Ola Electric is now offering customers the option to buy spare parts directly from the brand’s website. This should help owners repair their Ola scooters themselves, or from their trusted mechanic. Not only that, Ola is also offering a training course for mechanics to work on the brand’s electric scooters. The announcement was shared by the company CEO Bhavish Aggarwal on social media

Starting today, @OlaElectric parts are openly available on our app & website. Every Ola customer can now buy genuine parts directly, and any mechanic can self-train & service Ola vehicles.
Ola Electric will be offering training modules, diagnostic tools and manuals to local mechanics, so they get certified to work on Ola vehicles. This move is also likely aimed at reducing load on Ola service stations, which are currently dealing with a surge in service requests.

However, it is important to note that servicing an electric vehicle is a lot more complicated than servicing a petrol powered one. There are a lot of electrical and electronic components that work together. Understanding of these components will take some training for your local mechanic. For now, it seems like Ola Electric is only providing basic mechanical components and nothing related to the battery and the motor, apart from the drive belt, which should keep things simple.
That said, Ola has also stated that it will be expanding the numbers of spares that are offered on the website in the near future. We hope this goes hand-in-hand with the training modules for the same so that owners don’t have to rely on Ola service centres for comprehensive maintenance as well.
