This will make riding the ADV in peak city traffic easier

    Quick News Highlights:

    • BMW F 450 GS to reportedly offer both manual and semi-automatic gearbox options

    • New 450cc, liquid-cooled, twin-cylinder engine makes 47.95PS

    • Launch confirmed for late 2025, to be manufactured by TVS in India

UPDATE: BMW CEO, Markus Flesch, has given us a first look of the BMW F 450 GS

BMW Motorrad will launch the F 450 GS adventure bike later this year, likely at the 2025 EICMA in November 2025. The ADV was first showcased in concept form at EICMA 2024 in November. And now, new details have emerged, reportedly stating that it will also get the option of a semi-automatic transmission. The BMW F 450 GS will replace the now-discontinued BMW G 310 GS.

    Semi-Automatic Gearbox

BMW had revealed earlier that the 450cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin cylinder will make 47.95PS. But the bigger news is the fact that it will be offered with the choice of two gearbox options: manual and a new semi-automatic.

It’s unlikely to be the exact same tech as the Automated Shift Assistant (ASA) found on the larger BMW R 1300 GS, but a rather simplified version designed to keep the costs in check considering the F 450 GS will be BMW Motorrad’s cheapest twin-cylinder bike. ASA allows riders to switch between full auto and manual shifting without a clutch.

    What Else?

The BMW F 450 GS could also offer multiple rider modes, a bidirectional quickshifter, a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel. While all the test bikes till now have been seen with alloy wheels, the concept bike had wire-spoke wheels. These are likely to be available on higher-end variants or as optional extras. While the concept weighed 175kg, expect the production version to weigh a bit more.

    Make In India

It’s already known that the BMW F 450 GS will be manufactured in India by TVS, as part of the ongoing partnership that previously resulted in the 310cc engine platform. It’s also reported that BMW Motorrad will use the platform to possibly bring out a streetfighter (BMW F 450 R, maybe?) and a supersport.

    TVS & Norton Bikes

Interestingly, TVS is also working on a bike based on the 450cc platform, and that one will be the next evolution of the Apache RR 310. It’s also reported that the brand doesn’t intend to make a retro bike based on the 450cc platform, but that’s something TVS-owned Norton is cooking.

    BikeDekho Says

Upon launch, the BMW F 450 GS will enter a highly competitive segment with rivals such as the Honda NX500, Kawasaki Versys-X 300, KTM 390 Adventure, Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, and the upcoming CFMoto 450 MT. We expect the pricing to be around the Rs 4.5 lakh mark, with the semi-automatic version possibly priced around Rs 5 lakh (both prices ex-showroom).

      About the bike
It was my dream bike and it's so reliable and smooth. It has many features, like multiple riding mods and the trophy version has a ERC that means (easy riding clutch) it is very helpful to the beginners. The handling of the bike is very smooth and it gives around 20 to 24 milage on an average in highways and its seats are so much comfortable and it has a heating grips which helps me in early morning rides. I like to recommend this bike to the proper off-road bikers and they love this very much because of its handling and ERC you can also adjust the suspensions of both side and have a good off-road experience.
