Mechanically they remain unchanged, so what's new?

Yamaha India has launched the 2024 Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Edition models that include the R15M and the MT-15 Version 2.0 as a part of their ‘The Call of the Blue’ brand campaign. The limited edition models will be available through their Blue Square showrooms only. The livery is inspired by their MotoGP bikes and is carried forward to their road going models, displayed on the tank shrouds, fuel tank, and side panels.

Mechanically, both bikes remain unchanged and continue to get the 155cc single cylinder liquid-cooled engine which makes 18.4PS @10000rpm and 14.2Nm @7500rpm. They get a deltabox frame and are suspended by a telescopic inverted fork and a linked-type monoshock. Braking includes a 282mm disc at the front and a 220mm rear disc.

In terms of features, both the R15M and the MT-15 Version 2.0 get dual-channel ABS, Traction Control System, slip and assist clutch, Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) and Bluetooth connectivity as standard. The R15M is a more track-focused bike with sportier ergonomics and gets clip-on handlebars and rear set footpegs. It also gets additional features such as a Quickshifter, fully digital colour TFT screen, turn-by-turn navigation, volume control, upgraded switchgear and an LED light for the licence plate. The street-naked MT-15 Version 2.0 gets upright handlebars and a more comfy riding posture compared to the R15M and features an LCD digital instrument cluster.

The 2024 Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Edition R15M and MT-15 Version 2.0 are priced at Rs 1,98,800 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and Rs 1,73,400 (ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively.

The R15M goes up against the likes of the KTM RC200 and Hero Karizma XMR, and the MT-15 Version 2.0 rivals the Honda Hornet 2.0, Bajaj Pulsar NS200, and the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V.

Yamaha r15 v4 is a great fully faired sports bike
The reason i chose this bike was quite a story in short, i was a student who was about get in college and i needed a bike to travel a quite moderate distance. When i was searching for a bike which is highly affordable as well as stylish on the looks and has great features too! Then i came across this masterpiece which was totally worth it. The ride is great so far. But there are few factors to look for if a beginner is going to buy this bike, as a fully fair bike the biggest issue would be comfort on long ride eg. Posture issue because of the aggressive stance fully fair bikes usually have. But for the short to moderate distance its great soo far. And handling also good, and mileage is better than expected. One more thing to consider, if someone lives in a crowded city like area they can this as this bike isn't a street fighter or naked body bike for city specific conditions. I would absolutely recommend this bike to even a beginner who want to get a thrilling ride experience of a fully fair bike at price rang as low as this, mileage also great compared to other similar bikes, great handling too, maintenance is also fairly rated i would say, totally worth it!
