From low-speed electric scooter to a bunch of electric motorcycles, this year had it all
The electric two-wheeler segment has been catching up pace rapidly and this year we have witnessed a bunch of promising launches. Here’s a low-down on the electric two-wheelers launched so far in 2022:
Ola S1
Exactly a year after the Ola S1 Pro was launched, the EV maker launched the affordable iteration of the e-scooter, the S1. Despite being cheaper, it has a claimed range of 128km and a top speed of 95km. Ola Electric has not compromised much when it comes to the features either. Read our launch story to know more details.
Ather 450X Gen 3
Ather Energy also updated its 450X electric scooter and introduced the third-generation model this year. As expected from Ather, the changes are subtle and useful. Tork Kratos
After waiting for more than six years, Tork Motors finally launched the Kratos electric motorcycle in India. It is available in two variants with top-spec R variant packing 120km claimed range and a top speed of 105km. Read our launch story to know more.
TVS iQube Electric
TVS’ only electric scooter, the iQube Electric received an update this year with the introduction of not just an improved version but two new variants as well – S and ST. From improved range and features to more colour options, the new iQube range has a lot to brag about.
Hero Electric Optima
Hero Electric updated its popular e-scooter for 2022 by giving it more range and strengthening its chassis. Furthermore the 2022 Hero Optima CX now features 30 per cent better brakes. Read all about it in our launch story.
Oben Rorr And Hop Oxo
The electric motorcycle segment got two new players this year with the debut of the Oben Rorr and Hop Oxo. Both e-motorcycles feature decent range and even get a bunch of features.
We also rode the Simple One electric scooter this year and the company has promised to commence deliveries in October this year.
This year, we also saw a bunch of other EVs enter our market like the Hero Electric Eddy, AMO Jaunty Plus, Komaki Ranger, Cyborg Bob-e, Okinawa Okhi90, Benling Believe, Evtric Rise, BattRE Electric Storie, Greta Harper ZX Series and the Odysse Electric V2.
