After numerous spy shots and test mules, the Tork Kratos is finally launched in India. It’s available in a standard and R variant. The Kratos is priced at Rs 1,32,499 and the Kratos R retails at Rs 1,47,499 (both ex-showroom Pune). Bookings can be made on Tork’s website with a token amount of Rs 999. Deliveries will commence from April 4.

Going by the looks of it, the Tork Kratos seems youthful and a tad bit sporty unlike lots of other EVs that adopt conservative bodywork. Its triangle LED headlight with DRL and the fairly sharp body panels make the Kratos appear quite distinctive.

Tork has plonked in a 4kW axial flux motor that pushes out 7.5kW of peak power for the base model and 9kW for the Kratos R. The torque varies from 28Nm for the Kratos to 38Nm for the Kratos R. The motor is paired to a 4kWh lithium-ion battery that offers 180km of IDC range and 120km of real world range. Tork claims that the battery can be charged to 80 percent in less than an hour using the fast charging option (only for the R model). Top-speed is limited to 100kmph for the standard model and 105kmph for the R variant. As for the 0-40kmph acceleration, the standard model takes 4 seconds and the R model does it in 3.5 seconds.
Keeping up to the un-said EV standards, the Tork Kratos comes loaded with features. Along with LED illumination and a fully digital console, you also get a reverse mode, Bluetooth connectivity, navigation, USB charging port, anti-theft system, safe home feature, crash alert, ride analytics, guide me home lights and OTA updates. Not to mention, it benefits from regenerative braking too.
Supporting the entire structure is a split trellis frame used for the T6X. It’s suspended on a conventional telescopic fork and monoshock. Meanwhile, the braking hardware consists of a front and rear disc brake with CBS. It gets 165mm of ground clearance and rides on 17-inch alloys that look a tad bit similar to the Bajaj Pulsar RS200. Both the models tip the weight scale at 140kg.
While its direct rival is the Revolt RV400, priced at Rs 90,799 (ex-showroom Delhi), there are some powerful and premium scooters too that you can check out which includes the Ather 450X, Ola S1, Bajaj Chetak, TVS iQube Electric and Bounce Infinity E1. You can buy the Kratos only in white colour whereas the Kratos R is available in four colours: White, Blue, Red and Black.
