Here’s everything that unfolded in the two-wheeler space this week

With just one more day to go in 2018, we round up the latest developments in the last week of the year before we step into the new one. From a 250cc Pulsar to the KTM 390 Adventure, here’s a brief summary of everything that happened last week.

KTM 390 Adventure Spied Testing On Indian Roads

One of the most anticipated bikes of the year, the KTM 390 Adventure was recently spied testing in India. Interestingly, this test mule looks different from the one that was spied internationally. For starters, the bike spotted in India seems to come with alloy wheels rather than spokes. The internationally spied model, on the other hand, featured spoked rims with off-road friendly knobby tyres. The seat height on the model spied in India also seems to be a bit lower and more oriented towards comfortable ergonomics. This further reaffirms the fact that we might get two variants in India - a road-going version and an off-road friendly version. To know what we're on about, click here.

Bajaj Working On A New Pulsar 250

Coming back to the Chakan-based bikemaker, our sources reveal that the company is secretly working on a new 250cc Pulsar. Considering Bajaj has been using KTM derived engines for the NS 200 and the RS 200, we expect the upcoming Pulsar to follow suit and borrow its engine from the 200 Duke. In terms of design, however, we expect it to be a naked street fighter like the NS 200. Here’s everything you need to know.

Benelli TRK 502 Launch Date Revealed

After being resurrected, Benelli is all set to launch a host of motorcycles next year. The company will be starting their new innings by launching the TRK 502 and the TRK 502X on 18 February 2019. Both the motorcycles are powered by the same 499.6cc parallel-twin engine which dishes out 47.6PS of power and 45Nm of torque. Benelli plans to bring them here via the CKD route which might result in a price of around Rs 5 lakh. They will compete against the Kawasaki Versys-X 300 and the BMW G 310 GS. For more, click here.

2019 Yamaha FZ Launch On 21 January

Yamaha will be starting the new year with the launch of the all-new FZ V3.0 on 21 January 2019. Ahead of the launch, a test mule was recently spotted with a redesigned front, inspired by the FZ25. Other design changes include a beefier fuel tank with extensions and sharper front fascia. We expect Yamaha to equip the FZ with a fully digital instrument console. Bajaj Avenger 220 ABS India Launch Soon

The Bajaj Avenger Street/Cruise 220 is set for an update yet again. This time around, the Chakan-based manufacturer will be updating the cruiser with ABS. This might be the same single-channel ABS unit that we've seen on the Pulsar NS 200 and the Pulsar RS 200. The addition of ABS is likely to hike prices by Rs 6,000 to Rs 8,000.
