The duo were originally planned to arrive in 2020

  • The Harley Davidson Pan America and Bronx were unveiled at EICMA 2019.
  • Rescheduling the launch is part of HD’s new “Rewire” business plan.
  • The revelation was made via the brand’s official website.

There’s a slight change in Harley-Davidson’s plan for the Pan America 1250 And Bronx. The two bikes which were originally scheduled to arrive in 2020 will now be launched in 2021. This means we could expect to see the bikes in India only towards the end of 2021. The updated plan was posted on the brand's website which enlists these bikes as part of HD’s “More Roads” for “Rewire” business plan. The revised timelines are part of CEO Jochen Zeitz’s strategic growth plan for the company. He recently replaced Matt Levatich, former CEO of Harley-Davidson.

Harley-Davidson’s Rewire business has one of the pointers which states “Simplify and retime launches to reflect the new reality, align with the start of riding season and better suit the capacity of the company and dealers.” In other words, the company intentionally pushed the launch dates to 2021 in order to align it with the beginning of the 2021 riding season instead of introducing them during winter season in most markets when bikes are usually stored away.

The business plan also hints at new exciting iconic motorcycles and Harley Davidson’s commitment to cater to the Adventure Touring, Streetfighter and electric motorcycle segment. It also aims to shift its focus to markets that will offer the most potential and by extension, profits. Lastly, the iconic American bike maker will be looking at bringing in a new generation of riders by introducing a range of new products which include bicycles, electric scooters and a mid-capacity tracker.

The future looks promising and we sure hope we get to see Harley’s new and improved portfolio in India in the foreseeable future.
