Sales of these bikes are practically non-existent, so this will be a much needed reset

[UPDATE: 2026 Suzuki Gixxer 250 and Gixxer SF 250 have been launched, but they don't get everything we expected.]

    New Suzuki Gixxers

    Quick News Highlights:

    • All-new Gixxer 150 and 250 bikes expected with fresh design and new platform

    • More features and hardware upgrades likely across all four models

    • Launch expected by end-2026 or early 2027

Suzuki is reportedly working on a new-generation Gixxer range, finally addressing the age of the current Suzuki Gixxer 150 and 250 models, which have remained more-or-less unchanged since 2019. Rivals from TVS, Bajaj, Hero, Honda, Yamaha all now have more features and see far better sales. With demand dropping to very low levels, this update is expected to be a much-needed reset for Suzuki’s sporty line-up.

    New Design From Larger Suzukis

The fully-faired Suzuki Gixxer SF bikes are expected to draw inspiration from the larger Suzuki GSX-8R. Meanwhile, the naked Suzuki Gixxer bikes could take design cues from the Suzuki GSX-8S or maybe even the GSX-125S. Like before, the 150 and Suzuki Gixxer 250 models will likely share the same overall look, with differences in the colours, and alloy wheel design.

Updates We Would Like To See

The current Gixxers have often been criticised for stiff suspension, so improvements here would be welcome. A softer suspension setup for better ride quality, an inverted front fork, stronger brakes with improved bite, switchable dual-channel ABS, and brighter headlights with better road illumination – are all upgrades we would like to see.

    Same Engines, But More Tech

While the engines are likely to be carried forward, they could see meaningful feature updates such as ride-by-wire throttle, ride modes, a slipper clutch, maybe even a silent starter or even mild-hybrid tech like the Yamaha FZ-S Fi Hybrid. Speaking of features, higher variants of these Suzuki bikes are expected to get a TFT screen. This would help the Gixxers feel more up to date without overcomplicating the line-up.

    Pricing And Launch Timeline

The line-up could see a price increase of around Rs 7,000 to Rs 10,000 over the current models. Despite that, the Suzuki Gixxer SF 150 will still remain the most affordable faired bike in India. The new range is expected to launch by the end of 2026 or maybe even early 2027.

      The awesome bike
My gixxer was a BS4 version. But I can say that suzuki makes not one of the best, THE BEST engines. I bought it in 2018 and no body sounds found till date. Very minimum maintenance needed. I just change the oil and oil filter in 4-5 months and wash it. The mileage is around 50 and it's a good mileage. Breaking is just awesome. Never failed to stop in time. I love it like my darling. But I don't like the new headlight design. If you like LED headlights then it's a plus for you. One minor con is that the backseat is higher like a sporty bike. Other than that the bike gives you everything you need in this price segment.

      Gixxer 250
It is one of the smoothest engines that doesn't heat too often. Still feel indicators should be LED by now. Fit and finish are international standard. Throttle has a lot of give and play, which for a 250cc quarter litre engine is very good as it can be taken out for touring as well as for everyday city commutes. Riding dynamics triangle is perfect for even short riders. Surprising and satisfactory for a big engine
