    Himalayan 440

    Himalayan Vs Scram 440

The Himalayan 440’s design is inspired by the OG Himalayan 411. It gets a muscular fuel tank, a split seat setup, a wide handlebar, and a tall windscreen for added wind protection. The bike also gets a rear luggage rack to mount pannier bags & top boxes, along with a side-swept exhaust and a high-mounted fender to complete its rugged ADV looks.

It is available in three colour options: Mustang Brown, Sela Black and Nelong White.

    Himalayan Vs Scram 440

The bike gets the same 443 cc air/oil-cooled single-cylinder engine as the Scram 440, which makes 25.4 PS and 34 Nm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox.

    Himalayan Vs Scram 440

The bike gets a long-travel telescopic fork with 200 mm of wheel travel, along with a monoshock with 180 mm of wheel travel. The bike rides on 21-inch front and 17-inch rear spoked wheels with dual-purpose CEAT Gripp XL tyres. Braking duties are handled by a 300 mm disc at the front and a 240 mm disc at the rear.

The bike gets a fairly accessible 800 mm seat height, 220 mm ground clearance and a kerb weight of 199 kg.

    Himalayan Vs Scram 440

In terms of features, the bike gets a semi-digital instrument cluster with an analogue speedometer and a small digital insert which shows the fuel gauge, trip meters, odometer and a gear position indicator. The bike also comes with an LED headlight and a Tripper navigation pod, enabling Bluetooth connectivity for turn-by-turn navigation. It also gets a USB Type-C port for additional convenience.

In terms of safety features, the bike gets switchable dual-channel ABS as standard.

    Scram 440

    Himalayan Vs Scram 440

The Scrambler 440 gets typical scrambler styling with a muscular tank, a wide handlebar, a single-piece seat and a side-swept exhaust. However, unlike the Himalayan, it does not get a rear luggage rack, a windscreen, or a high-mounted fender.

The bike comes in alloy or spoke wheel options, with the spoke wheel variant getting two colours: Trail Green and Trail Blue, while the alloy wheel variant gets three colours: Force Blue, Force Teal and Force Grey.

    Himalayan Vs Scram 440

The Scram shares its engine with the Himalayan 440, which makes 25.4 PS and 34 Nm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox.

    Himalayan Vs Scram 440

The bike gets the same frame as the Himalayan. However, the biggest difference is in the suspension and wheel sizes. The Scram gets a telescopic fork with 190 mm of wheel travel, which is 10 mm less than the Himalayan 440, along with a monoshock at the rear with 180 mm of wheel travel.

It gets a 19-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear spoked or alloy wheels, depending on the variant, wrapped in similar CEAT Gripp XL tyres. The braking hardware is also the same as the Himalayan.

One big advantage that the Scram has over the Himalayan is that it is available with tubeless wheels on the higher variant, which makes dealing with punctures a lot easier.

The Scram gets a lower seat height of 795 mm, which is 5 mm lower than the Himalayan, a kerb weight of 196 kg, which is 3 kg less, and a ground clearance of 200 mm, which is 20 mm less.

    Himalayan Vs Scram 440

In terms of features, it gets the same semi-digital instrument cluster as the Himalayan, while the Tripper navigation pod is available as an accessory. In terms of safety features, it gets dual-channel ABS as standard. However, there is no switchable ABS on offer.

    BikeDekho Says

    Himalayan Vs Scram 440

If you want a bike that can go touring and also perform well off-road, the Himalayan 440 makes more sense. It gets longer suspension travel, a larger front wheel, a windscreen and rear luggage mounts, which make it more suitable for touring.

    Himalayan Vs Scram 440

The Scram 440, on the other hand, is more suited for the city and occasional trail riding. Its smaller front wheel should make it more agile in the city compared to the Himalayan, while it has similar off-road capabilities to the Himalayan. And with the option of tubeless wheels on the top variant, it makes it even more convenient, as you won’t have to deal with the hassle of tube tyres.

The Himalayan and the Scrambler are essentially the same bike, but the changes in suspension and features will ultimately affect your buying decision.

Best cruising segment bike for on road and off road. May performance is best in segment. Powerful engine, previous version of this bike are pretty good but the current version are not practically good or styling. I expect, the upcoming version will fulfil that gap. Just waiting for the official launch of this bike.
