KTM and Bajaj have finally listened to their fans and off-road enthusiasts

    Quick News Highlights

    • KTM launches Global-Spec 390 Enduro R in India at Rs 3,53,825 (ex-showroom)
    • Comes with 230mm wheel travel front and rear, 277mm ground clearance
    • Targeted at serious off-road enthusiasts, bookings are now open

KTM has officially launched the much-anticipated, Global-Spec 390 Enduro R in India, priced at Rs 3,53,825 (ex-showroom). This variant is the international configuration of KTM’s dual-sport, and is even more hardcore off-road, with more suspension travel and higher ground clearance.

    Why The Launch?

The move follows social media chatter and customer feedback regarding the previously launched India-spec version of this KTM bike, which offered less suspension travel and ground clearance. The Global-Spec model addresses all these concerns, and even goes a step further with better tyres.

More Suspension Travel & Clearance - More Capability?

The international-spec KTM 390 Enduro R gets 230mm of wheel travel at both the front and rear. The bike we got had 200mm at the front and 205mm at the rear. These figures aren’t that bad in the first place in our opinion, but the even greater travel in the Global Spec should allow offroad riders tackle even more challenging terrain. Also, the 43mm fork gets the same 30-step damping adjustability while the rear monoshock gets 20-steps as before.

The longer-travel suspension results in a higher ground clearance of 277mm, up from 253mm. Seat height has also increased from 860mm to 895mm. This may be a concern for shorter riders, but is a boon for those who demand more travel and better performance in extreme off-road scenarios. Oh, and the Global-Spec bike gets better Metzeler Karoos, a proper set of off-road tyres.

    What’s Still The Same?

The bike is still powered by the 398.63cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine shared with the KTM 390 Adventure, 390 Adventure X, and 390 Duke. It makes 46PS at 8,500rpm, 39Nm at 6,500rpm, and is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. It also gets a slipper clutch, a bidirectional quickshifter, ride-by-wire, ride modes, and traction control.

The 390 Enduro R is built on a split trellis frame, a 9-litre fuel tank and gets a 285mm front, a 240mm rear disc - both floating calipers. It still gets LED lighting all around, a 4.2-inch TFT console, turn-by-turn navigation, a USB-C charger, adjustable clutch and brake levers. The dual-channel ABS system includes an off-road mode and allows full ABS deactivation too.

    BikeDekho Says

The reason why the India-spec 390 Enduro R had lower suspension travel is because KTM figured the average height of the Indian rider is less than European or American counterparts. The brand wanted to make the bike accessible, because that’s the whole point - selling bikes that are practical enough to be used. However, some enthusiasts criticized the fact that the India-spec 390 Enduro R is considered to be a ‘toned-down’ version of the international model.

Now that KTM has brought in the no-compromise Global-Spec model, this should keep hardcore enthusiasts happy. However, they’ll have to be aware of the fact that this comes at a higher premium than the India-spec one - Rs 17,325 to be exact. KTM will continue to sell the India-spec model alongside the Global-Spec.

I am doing long ride on week end also for lite affordable i see many other options like Himalayan 450 but bit heavy for me so I choose ktm adventure because it's light weight easy to ride on highway also good feature of electrical side. On highway I am getting mileage of 30 to 37 kmpl depends on engine rpm this bike effortlessly crush on 120kmph to 140kmph with any engine stress also riding poser is good comfortable in city it's easy to manoeuvre in traffic. Here is my reason to choose ktm light weight good mileage best electric feature like riding mode cornering abs best tft counsel also you get accessories port bottom, also engine power is best in class no match for ktm.

      Ready to Adventure.
I also have a Duke, Adv has covered all the issues which I have faced on Duke when I use to go on long rides, Ride is also plush coupled with a great engine which proves itself on all grounds. Also it has a decent fuel efficiency considering its engine performance. Bike's comfortable its mileage is also good I get a decent range, but the engine won't feel as raw as BS4 duke, great electronics and safety. Just having engine oil consumption on higher side. Also the Trampler tyres give more life than Turanzas which came initially. Long hauling person should definitely buy this bike, long rides are so hassle free. And comfortable, also if you have to carry any luggage they have provided good anchoring points. Tieing a back pack or a duffle bag is easy.

surprisingly capable on the road, especially on twisty tarmac often surprising sportbike riders. It can maintain highway speeds well but its dirt-bike roots mean long highway rides can be less comfortable due to wind firm seats and some engine vibrations More approachable, manageable, and easier to handle for less-experienced off-road riders. Excellent chassis/suspension.but can feel heavy and bottom out on the shock in very rough.aggressive terrain compared to dirt bike I want to say anything best mileage best performance what you need apart from that best bike i ever ride the aggressive bike especially on twisty tarmac often surprising sportbike ridervibrations engien
