  • Sources suggest the 2019 Bajaj Dominar 400 will be launched by Feb-end.
  • Some dealers are now accepting bookings for a token amount of Rs 1,000.

  • Likely to be priced at a premium of Rs 10,000 - Rs 15,000 over the outgoing model.

Bajaj is all set to launch the second-gen Dominar 400 by the end of this month. Various Bajaj dealerships across the country have even begun accepting bookings for a token amount of Rs 1,000. Recently, a production version of the new bike was spied at Bajaj’s manufacturing facility in Chakan, near Pune.

The next generation Dominar is set to get substantial updates in various departments, including design, features, powertrain and underpinnings. For starters, it gets a new metallic green paint option, while body parts like the radiator cover, rear footpeg assembly and engine crankcase now feature a black finish. Meanwhile, the exhaust end can is now a dual-port unit. Other minor updates include a redesigned instrument console with a gear position indicator. The fuel tank-mounted instrument console now gets a more comprehensive LCD screen as well.

According to our sources, the 373.3cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder motor too has been updated for more power and refinement. We also expect it to be BSVI-compliant. Read more about the Bajaj Dominar 400 engine updates here.

The underpinnings receive a premium upgrade in the form of upside down forks. The front 320mm disc brake has now been repositioned to the left side of the wheel instead of the right. 

While Bajaj hasn’t revealed the prices yet, we expect the next generation Dominar to be priced at a premium of Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000 over the current model, which retails for Rs 1.63 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
