Rajini Krishnan is all set to defend his Malaysian Superbike Championship title that he won last year in Malaysia.

Rajini Krishnan, the 2015 Malaysian Superbike Champion, is defending his title in the current season of the motorcycle racing championship. Round one of the championship is taking place at the Sepang International Circuit, Malaysia. It started last weekend as a support race for the World Superbike Championship (WSBK) and the whole championship comprises of five rounds.

The competitors raced in wet conditions at the practice and qualifying session with Rajini facing some problems from the tyres. He eventually qualified 5th in this session.

Practice Race: The first race had 8 laps and the Indian racer was in 2nd position until he faced some suspension issues, with his bike sliding too much in the corners. He subsequently dropped to fourth and was not able to gain position till the end of the race.

Qualifying Race: The qualifying race was eventually declared as a wet race, which in turn adversely affected the racers, along with Rajini. The lap times were affected due to the new tarmac that was laid on the track. This resulted in Rajini scoring 5th position in the race.

In his second race, in the qualifying round, the racer tested his new 2016 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R, which he will be using throughout the season. The new bike replaces his 2013 bike that he raced in the first race, the practice session. The racer hopes to improve his standing in the remaining races.
