We have a lot of questions regarding this job, but the biggest one is WHY?

Buying your dream bike is a lovely feeling. Finally making the transition from bedroom poster to garage is a big step and sure to make anyone feel rather special. Unfortunately, not all of us can enjoy this feeling; for some of us, that dream bike is just a little bit out of reach, no matter how hard we try. Fret not, because there’s always a workaround, as this Benelli TRK 502X owner shows us.

Yes, you read that right. It’s a Benelli, not a flagship BMW R 1250 GS. But anyone who’s not a hardcore motorcycle enthusiast will find that immensely difficult to tell, because this is a remarkably well done job. But said enthusiast will notice that the GS’ signature boxer twin motor is missing, which is a dead giveaway. Nevertheless, all the stickering on the body panels is neatly executed and the logo between the headlights looks quite smart. Heck, the owner has even gone to the lengths of putting BMW logos on the engine covers.

Imitation is the highest form of flattery, but we doubt BMW’s trademark lawyers will be too pleased with what they see. As well performed as this job may be, we’re not quite sure why you’d want your motorcycle to pretend to be something it isn’t. But then again, to each his own. If you’re curious about what the real Benelli TRK 502X looks like and how it rides, check out our review here.
