TVS Apache RTX 300 vs Yezdi Adventure: Which One Wins?

These two are the only adventure bikes available in India in the 300cc segment

TVS recently launched the all new Apache RTX 300 in India at an introductory price of Rs 1,99,000  (ex-showroom Delhi). It is the brand’s first adventure bike and it uses an all-new 300cc liquid-cooled motor along with loads of exciting features. The RTX 300 is available at an introductory price of Rs 1.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

It goes up against the only other ADV in the 300cc space - the Yezdi Adventure, which also got an update a few months ago. Here is a detailed specifications comparison between these two adventure bikes:

Engine

Specifications

TVS Apache RTX 300

Yezdi Adventure

Engine

299.1cc, liquid-cooled

334cc, liquid-cooled

Power

36PS at 9,000rpm

29.6PS at 8,000rpm

Torque

28.5Nm at 7,000rpm

29.9Nm at 5,800rpm

Gearbox

6-speed

6-speed

Despite the smaller engine capacity, the TVS Apache RTX 300 manages to push a lot more power than the Yezdi, and even the torque output is pretty close. That said, the Yezdi’s torque comes much earlier down the rev range, which should theoretically make it better off the road. However, we’ll be able to give the verdict on the real-world behaviour of the two bikes only after riding them.

The TVS Apache RTX 300’s modern inverted fork should offer more sophisticated damping on paper. But then again, a well-tuned telescopic fork can also be just as good. Also, the extra wheel travel on the Yezdi Adventure and the fact that it gets a larger 21-inch front, that too spoke wheels should make it a better choice for those looking to often go off-road (spoke wheels can absorb impacts better than alloys).

The Apache RTX300 is more of a road-biased tourer that still doesn’t shy away from the occasional trail runs. The wider tyre on the Apache should also help it better - be it on the road or on gravel. It’s also tubeless, so it will be able to handle punctures much better than the tubed tyres on the Yezdi Adventure.

The Yezdi Adventure may be a bit heavier, but it manages to be more accessible with a lower seat height, without compromising on ground clearance. In fact, it’s got a bit more clearance than the Apache’s, and this along with the larger fuel tank should make it great for touring.

TVS is well-known to offer excellent features on their bikes, so the Apache RTX300 is no different either. The screen mirroring with full-fledged navigation will be a lot more useful and easy to understand than the turn-by-turn navigation on the Yezdi Adventure. Quickshifter and cruise control will also make life a whole lot easier - both in the city (with quickshifter you don’t have to worry about operating the clutch while shifting) and on the highways (cruise control can sustain a set speed).

While the Yezdi Adventure has a decent set of rider aids (which are just about enough in our opinion), TVS manages to massively outperform the Yezdi, with multiple levels of electronic aids.

Price And Verdict

TVS  Apache RTX 300

Yezdi Adventure

Rs 1,99,000

Rs 1,98,000

All prices ex-showroom Delhi.

With the introductory pricing of the RTX 300, there is only a Rs 1000 difference between these two adventure motorcycles. If you want better overall performance, loads of features, and will mostly be touring on the highways, then the RTX 300 is the one for you. Those looking for a rugged off-road-friendly adventure bike with all the necessary basics will find the Yezdi Adventure to be the better choice, spec-wise.

User Reviews

One of the best above 300 cc bike you can have.

For my inter state rides as I currently live in Ranchi but my home city is Chaibasa so I have to travel between these city a lot and this bike feels best when I ride for a longer distance. The major reason was the height of the bike, as I am 6.1 ft 24M, it is the best height bike for me. As I can feel that this bike is not for daily commuters as it is quite big for the Indian roads but the whole seen changes when you ride it on highways. I feel confident while riding this, one of my cousin have RE Himalayan and when compared to it, this bike feel more agile and is more practical. I would recommend this bike to only those who wants to have a best all rounder bike as it has best in the market technical specs, (even I have not fully explored all the modes of the bike thus far), it feels confident to ride on in many situations. And to top it all off, it has best engine as both BMW and TVS came together in this. Read More
