Moto Guzzi, an Italian two-wheeler manufacturer, has unveiled the Trip 500, a neo-retro roadster based on the Aprilia 457cc platform. Here's all you need to know:
A Familiar Heart

Powering the Moto Guzzi Trip 500 will be the same 457cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine as the Aprilia RS 457 and the Tuono 457. On the Aprilias, this engine makes 47.6 PS and 43.5 Nm, paired to a 6-speed gearbox with a bidirectional quickshifter.
We have experienced this engine on the Aprilia twins, it has a torquey nature and offers effortless pull throughout its rev band. Being a 270-degree crank engine, it also sounds similar to a sporty V-twin, which would suit the Trip 500's character.
Authentic Moto Guzzi Style

The Trip 500 stays true to authentic Moto Guzzi styling but with a neo-retro twist. The most noticeable styling element is the round LED headlight with Moto Guzzi wing-inspired LED DRLs, which give it a unique character. The bike also gets a golden-coloured inverted fork, a muscular fuel tank, a single-piece seat and split grab rails that give it a sporty look.
The Moto Guzzi bike will be available in four colours: Black Metropolis, Green Grove, Red Bat and ‘The Opening’ special-edition colour scheme.
Updated Underpinnings

While the Trip 500 shares its frame with the Aprilia twins, its subframe has been modified to accommodate the new side-mounted monoshock. The bike also gets a new swingarm and new Y-spoke alloy wheel design. It continues to get an inverted fork like the Aprilia bikes and rides on 17-inch wheels with disc brakes at both ends.
The bike has a kerb weight of 180kg, a seat height of 790 mm, and a 15-litre fuel tank, compared to the 13-litre tank on the Aprilia twins.
Loaded With Tech

The Trip 500 is equipped with a 3.6-inch circular TFT console with Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, and call and SMS alerts. The bike also gets a ride-by-wire throttle, which enables three ride modes: Road, Rain, and Sport. In terms of safety features, the bike will come with dual-channel ABS and traction control.
BikeDekho Says
The Trip 500 will be the new entry point in Moto Guzzi's lineup and will share most of its underpinnings with its Aprilia siblings. With its neo-retro looks, punchy engine, premium hardware, and modern tech, it is sure to get a lot of attention.
The bike will be showcased at EICMA 2026 between November 3 and 8 and, according to the brand, will arrive at European dealerships in early 2027. However, the brand has not announced its India launch timeline yet. However, if it is launched in India, it could have a niche, premium positioning. For reference, the Tuono 457is priced at Rs 4,01,226 (ex-showroom). It will be an appealing option for someone looking for a premium, high-performance neo-retro roadster.
