Top 5 Best-Selling 125cc Bikes Of May 2025

The Honda Shine 125 is not only the best-selling 125cc bike, but is also the second best-selling bike as a whole, in India

125cc bikes are now a sweet spot in the Indian two-wheeler segment. They offer better performance than a 110cc bike while ensuring the mileage is better than a 150cc motorcycle. The SIAM (Society Of Indian Automobile Manufacturers) for the month of May 2025 is out, and here are the top 5 best-sellers in the segment:

The Honda Shine 125, is one of the bread-and-butter models of Honda, racking up significant sales numbers every single month. The Shine 125 gets a refined, reliable 125cc engine. The bike is comfortable enough for city as well as the occasional highway runs, while offering good mileage.

Honda sold 1,48,288 units of the bike in May 2025, showing a small decrease in the MoM (Month-On-Month) sales figures by just 0.79% when compared with April 2025. The YoY (Year-On-Year) sales figures though, have seen an increase of a healthy 16.84%, compared to May 2024.

Bajaj enjoys strength in numbers with its Pulsar 125cc range. It includes not one but three bikes - each with different styling and different purposes. The Pulsar 125 is the classic-looking commuter with the iconic original Pulsar styling whereas the Pulsar NS125 is a sporty commuter with design inspired by the Pulsar NS200. The N125, on the other hand, is a unique-looking commuter with a design that’s completely different even when compared to other bikes in the Pulsar N family (which includes the Pulsar N150, N160, and N250).

Bajaj sold 78,988 units of the 125cc Bajaj Pulsar range in May 2025, a small dip of 0.26% in the MoM sales. The YoY sales though, have seen a small increase of 6.63%.

The TVS Raider 125, with its launch back in 2021, practically popularised the 125cc sporty commuters in India. The bike has a modern design, a peppy engine and is loaded with features - some even segment-first such as riding modes, and a TFT connected console. What’s impressive is that in our real world tests, the TVS Raider 125 returned a mileage of 71.94kmpl in the city and 65.44kmpl on the highway - that’s practically as good as a 100cc bike’s mileage!

Despite its capability, TVS sold 35,401 units of the Raider 125 in May 2025, a significant decline of 17.72% in MoM sales. Even the YoY sales figures show a slight decrease of 4.96% when compared to May 2024. It’s high-time TVS updates the Raider soon, hopefully with new colours.

The Hero Super Splendor is the larger capacity sibling of the 100cc Hero Splendor Plus. This 125cc bike comes with a simple styling, decent list of features, and is priced competitively.

Hero sold 18,627 units of the Super Splendor in May 2025, a significant increase of 51.95% in its MoM sales. That said, the YoY sales have dropped significantly by 33.20%. The big jump in sales is due to the fact that Hero temporarily paused production on some of its manufacturing plants for maintenance in April. Another reason is that Hero launched the OBD2B compliant version of the Super Splendor in the same month.

The Hero Xtreme 125R, with time, is becoming quite popular in the 125cc sporty-commuter category. Its aggressive design, tractable engine and the excellent mileage make it a perfect pick for someone who is looking for a sharp-looking yet pocket-friendly 125cc bike.

Hero sold 16,602 units of the Xtreme 125R in May 2025, a significant increase of 39.24% in MoM sales. The YoY sales have been looking good too, with a 15.88 % increase.

good bike for daily use

Overall very good bike with reasonable price and engine performance, but yes some vibration in engine at high speed around 70. Looks wise also clean and pickup is not very good or bad. I used honda shine in past pickup was better than this one and yellowish digital meter can be also negative for some user.Read More
