Hero XPulse 200, 200T And Xtreme 200S Launched In India

The XPulse 200 is an off-road-oriented motorcycle and the 200T is its road-biased sibling

Hero has finally launched the XPulse 200 and the 200T in India. The motorcycles are available in three variants: the 200 Fi, 200 carb and the standard 200T. While the 200 carb variant is priced at Rs 97,000, the Fi variant is priced at Rs 1.05 lakh. The touring variant, on the other hand, will retail at 94,000. And along with the XPulse, the company has also launched a new motorcycle. Enter the Xtreme 200S; a faired version of the Xtreme 200R. The new sportbike is priced at Rs 98,500 (all prices are ex-showroom Delhi).

While the XPulse 200 is an off-roader, the 200T is a touring-focused variant. Being an adventure motorcycle, the XPulse 200 features 21-inch front spoke wheel and a smaller 18-inch unit at the rear wrapped in dual-purpose Ceat Gripp tyres. It also gets long-travel suspension with 190mm of travel at the front and a rear monoshock with 170mm of travel. This entry-level adventure motorcycle gets a front beak, sump guard, knuckle guards and a high-mounted exhaust. 

The XPulse 200T, on the other hand, gets telescopic forks at the front and a preload adjustable monoshock at the rear. Being a road-biased variant, the 200T gets 17-inch alloy wheels (100/80-front, 130/70-rear) at both ends. In terms of features, both the bikes get a fully digital instrument cluster with navigation and Bluetooth connectivity, LED lights at the front and at the back and single-channel ABS as standard. 

The powerplant on the XPulse duo is the same 199.6cc air-cooled engine as seen on the Xtreme 200R. The motor produces 18.4PS of power at 8,000rpm and 17.1Nm of torque at 6,500rpm, paired to a 5-speed gearbox. However, both bikes have different final drive ratios to suit their respective styles.

The Xtreme 200S is essentially a faired iteration of the Xtreme 200R and is the most affordable fully faired bike in India. It is powered by the same engine as the Xtreme 200R and produces the same output as well. Suspension duties are taken care of by telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear. Braking hardware consists of disc brakes at either ends and a single-channel ABS if offered as an extra safety feature. The motorcycle features telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear. 

At this price, the XPulse 200 is the most affordable adventure motorcycle in the country, undercutting the Royal Enfield Himalayan by a whopping Rs 74,000! The 200T, on the other hand, will go up against the Bajaj Avenger and the Suzuki Intruder. The Xtreme 200S goes up against the Bajaj Pulsar RS200.
