Simple Electric Teases Unveil Of Their Electric Scooter

Social media teaser reveals unveiling timeline of the Simple One

Simple Energy has been teasing the unveiling of its highly anticipated electric scooter - the One - on its social media channels. The teaser reveals the unveiling date to be 15th July. This comes after the Bengaluru-based company had announced last month that it would be delaying the deliveries of the One to September this year. 

We can expect some visual changes to the Simple One at its unveiling in two days. Earlier this year, the company had upgraded the Simple One's motor for better performance and efficiency. It was claimed that this updated motor could produce 72Nm, the most across all e-scooters in India, with an efficiency of up to 96 percent. 

Simple One is powered by a 8.5 kW motor and is claimed to have a real-world range of 203 km in Eco mode. According to Simple Energy, the scooter accelerates from 0-40 kmph in 2.95 seconds. The top speed is limited to 105 kmph. The underseat storage capacity is 30 litres. It is offered in two configurations – the standard and the long-range – wherein the latter gets an additional battery pack for a claimed range of over 300 km.

Simple Energy has also announced that the test rides for the Simple One will begin from 20th July 2022, and they will be held in 13 cities across the country. The scooter is priced at Rs 1,09,999 (ex-showroom) for the standard variant and Rs 1,44,999 (ex-showroom) for the long-range configuration. Buyers can book the electric scooter on the company’s website for Rs 1,947. The Simple One goes up against the Ola S1 Pro, Ather 450X and TVS iQube.
