Simple OneS Discontinued In India
Got loads of features and had a great claimed range!
Bengaluru-based EV manufacturer Simple Energy has quietly discontinued its OneS electric scooter in India. The scooter came at a starting price of Rs 1,77,999 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). Here’s all you need to know:

Before the launch of the new Simple Wave, the Simple OneS was the most affordable Simple electric scooter you could get your hands on. It had a 3.7 kWh battery pack, which delivered a claimed IDC (Indian Driving Cycle) range of 190 km. It was powered by a mid-mounted electric motor that makes 6.4 kW and 52 Nm (both peak), with a claimed top speed of 90 kmph. It came with 4 riding modes: Eco X, Eco, Ride & Air.
In terms of features, the simple scooter came with a 7-inch TFT console with Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation & call/SMS alerts. Other features included hill hold assist, a reverse mode, find my scooter & OTA (Over-the-Air) software updates. The scooter also got a 35-litre underseat storage along with a USB charging port for added convenience.
The scooter was equipped with a telescopic fork & a monoshock. It rode on 12-inch wheels with disc brakes at both ends, along with a combined braking system (CBS).

With the OneS now discontinued, there is a huge gap left in the Simple scooter range. At the more affordable end, there is the recently launched Simple Wave electric scooter, which starts from Rs 1,09,999 to Rs 1,74,999 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru) and is targeted at more family-oriented buyers. On the other hand, you have the Simple One, which is the sportier scooter of the two but is more expensive than the top variant of the Wave at Rs 2,04,999 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). This creates a gap of Rs 30,000 in Simple’s range.
The discontinuation also means that the Simple does not have a direct competitor to the Ather 450 range, which gives the brand a major disadvantage in terms of its positioning in the sporty electric scooter segment in India.

- Regen Mode Off in OTA UPDATE
I bought this scooter in July as a gamble. Because on paper it is better than 450x. And its worth every penny. There is a single small issue. Simple Energy, please add option to switch regen off in OTA update. Its permanent on mode make the scooter very jerky between 10-20 kmph. It also puts strain on the motor as the braking system and motor are acting opposite to each other in traffic.

Last week I’ve purchased S model. Company claimed 181 km range but an Eco mode mine gives after 100% charge 142km. Value for money. Basically all EV scooters comes with that price range which maybe higher price but reason to buy is specially its height & both suspension. After that it has 4 riding mode + Reverse without any charges.
