Simple Wave S vs TVS iQUBE 2.3 kWh: Compared

The Simple Wave was recently launched in India. The family-focused scooter offers a host of convenience features for everyday use and is quite practical as well. Similarly, the TVS iQube 2.3 kWh is the entry-level scooter in the TVS iQube lineup.

Here is how these new electric scooters compare against each other:

Design

Both the e-scooters from the brands are positioned as family scooters. The Simple Wave gets overall a curvy design, making it look much more premium. The Simple Wave S 2.2 kWh is available in two colours: Pearl White and Dolphine Grey. Also, check out our colour explainer to know which colour will suit you.

On the other hand, the TVS iQubeS 2.2 kWh takes an even more traditional approach in terms of design, making it a no-frills electric scooter. The base variant of the scooter comes in 3 colour options: Pearl White, Walnut Brown, and Titanium Grey. 

Performance and Range

The Simple Wave S 2.2 kWh gets a 4.5 kW motor. It has a claimed IDC (Indian Driving Condition) range of 110 km and a top speed of 70 kmph. Whereas the iQube gets a top speed of 68 kmph. 

The Simple Wave gets three riding modes: Eco X, Eco and Ride, which alter the power delivery and throttle response depending on the selected mode.

The base variant of the iQube gets a slightly bigger 2.3 kWh battery pack, which is paired to a 3.68 kW motor. It gets an IDC range of 114 km, which is 4 km more than the Simple Wave.

Underpinnings

Both the scooters roll on 12-inch wheels at both ends. They get a telescopic fork, and the rear is taken care of by dual-shock suspension. The simple gets a front disc, and the rear is taken care of by a drum brake setup. 

On the other hand, the iQube gets drum brakes at both ends.  

Features 

The TVS iQube outshines the Wave by offering a host of features, which includes Bluetooth connectivity, call/SMS alerts and turn-by-turn navigation. 

On the other hand, the Simple Wave features a 5-inch LCD console, which shows the speedometer, tachometer and the odometer. 

The iQube gets 32 litres of underseat storage, whereas the Simple Wave offers a massive 70-litre boot storage, which is more than adequate for everyday use. Also the scooter gets a long seat length of 920 mm, making it comfortable for two fully grown adults.

On paper the TVS iQUBE 2.3kW makes a much better proposition than the Simple Wave, as it offers better range, but if practicality is your requirement, then the Wave is the one to consider. The simple wave is priced at a premium, and the iQube undercuts it by Rs 15,565.

The TVS iQube holds a better value proposition. However, if you need bigger storage and everyday practicality and seating comfort – the Simple Wave is the way to go.
