Royal Enfield created quite a splash at last year’s EICMA motorcycle show when they unveiled the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650. This year though, the bikemaker will be coming out with a new motorcycle based on the earlier announced ‘K’ platform, wherein all future models displacing more than 700cc are being developed by Royal Enfield. The Indian bikemaker teased the new model on Instagram stating that it will be unveiled at EICMA.

While we were expecting to see a Classic 650 in the works, a recent report from Autocar Professional suggests that the upcoming big capacity motorcycle from Royal Enfield will pack an 834cc liquid-cooled, V-twin motor developing around 80-90PS of peak power. Reportedly, this engine was co-developed with Polaris back when the firms were in a joint venture. However, as per the publication, the bike is a good year away from making it to the production line.

The silhouette teases a single seat, flat bars and what appears to be a larger front wheel with chopped front fenders. It seems like RE might use a 19-inch front and 18-inch rear wheel. Interestingly, the Classic 500 uses the same wheel configuration. The headlamp gets an LED treatment, and reminds us of the Indian Scout Bobber’s headlamp shroud.
