Honda SP125 vs Hero Glamour X 125: 2 Good 125cc Bikes At The Same Price!

And that’s exactly what makes this buying decision tougher

The Honda SP125 and the Hero Glamour X 125 are 2 good 125cc bikes, for they come with a reasonably good engine, ample amount of features and price tags that are extremely close. So if you’ve been wanting a good 125cc bike and are confused between these 2, here’s a detailed comparison between these two bikes:

Price & Variants

Honda SP125

Hero Glamour X 125

Standard

Rs 89,748

Drum Brake

Rs 88,517

Deluxe

Rs 97,335

Disc Brake

Rs 96,836

  • In terms of prices, both the SP125 and the Glamour X’s are as close as it gets. Both the SP125 variants are about Rs 1,000 more expensive than the Glamour’s respective variants and that sort of a price difference is pretty much negligible.

  • In this segment, both companies are known for making bikes that are excellent value for money and it’s the same with these 2.

  • So while the SP125 carries a slightly lower price tag, we’re going to call it a tie when it comes to the bikes’ prices.

  • The difference in their widths might be something that could stand out for you but it’s not something you really need to think about. Both are narrow, agile bikes that you can put through the tightest gaps in city traffic without worrying about it too much.

  • The other difference in terms of their dimensions is the 11kg gap. Now, while the Glamour doesn’t exactly feel heavy, the SP125 just feels incredibly light. It changes directions with minimal efforts and cuts through traffic incredibly well.

  • With an aggressive-looking LED headlight, darker colourways, stylish alloys and an overall simple but attractive design, both the bikes are on the sportier side of things when it comes to commuters.

  • They’re both commuters, though, so apart from their designs, they keep things simple and uncomplicated.

Features & Safety

Key Features

Honda SP125

Hero Glamour X 125

  • TFT console with Bluetooth connectivity (on the Deluxe variant)

  • Type C charging port

  • LED headlight

  • All-LED lighting

  • Fully-digital LCD console

  • 3 riding modes - Eco, Road & Power

  • Cruise control

  • Both the SP125 and the Glamour X have a reasonably long list of features. Where the SP125 might end up making the buyer feel a bit more special is with its fancy looking TFT console.

  • While the Glamour has a fully-digital console, it’s still an LCD unit and a TFT isn’t available even as an optional accessory on the higher variants.

  • Now, the Glamour X does boast of having riding modes and even cruise control, we’ll let you decide how important both the things really are, on what is a humble 125cc bike.

  • So if you want a winner in terms of features, it’s the SP125, for the Honda bike has a slight edge thanks to the availability of a TFT console even as an option.

Engines

  • The Glamour X 125 makes a bit more power, while the SP125 makes a bit more torque. But the truth is that the difference isn’t really felt much in the real world.

  • To the ones who go looking for it, the SP125 might feel a bit quicker right off the line, but in the real world in the city, the difference is extremely hard to tell.

  • That said, 1 difference that’s evident is that the SP125 feels a lot smoother. While the Glamour isn’t a particularly buzzy bike, the SP125 is just better.

  • Both engines will feel nice till about 50kmph, post which they will feel overworked and stressed. Out on the highway, a steady 65-70kmph can be maintained if you’re ready to deal with noise and vibrations.

Verdict

As you can see, it’s been a tough battle in this comparison and which bike you should buy eventually boils down to your own expectations. If you want the typical Honda experience - reliable, smooth and no-nonsense, get the Honda SP125. It’s a proper Honda bike in every way and we quite like it.

But if you want something that feels a bit more modern, with fancier features that sound nice, the Hero Glamour X 125 might be the bike for you, for it boasts features that even much bigger bikes don’t have.

Rivals:

Honda SP125 vs Bajaj Pulsar 125: Spec Comparison: Get the SP125 if you want something that’s smooth and has a reasonable amount of features. But if you’re a Pulsar fanboy/fangirl, get the Bajaj Pulsar 125

Honda SP125 vs Hero Super Splendor Xtec 2.0: Spec Comparison: The SP125, with its optional TFT screen, will feel like the more premium bike of the two
