Hero XPulse 200 And 200T Launch Date Revealed

The entry-level off-roader and tourer from Hero, the XPulse 200 and the 200T, will be launched on May 1

• We expect the XPulse 200 and Xpulse 200T to cost between Rs 1 lakh to 1.1 lakh (ex-showroom).

If you are eagerly waiting for the new Hero XPulse 200 and the 200T, we have some good news for you. Hero will launch both the motorcycles on May 1. You already may know every little detail about these motorcycles, but just to refresh your memory before the official launch, here’s a quick rundown on both. 

1: Engine: 
Both the motorcycles will be powered by the same 200cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled motor seen on the Xtreme 200R. The motor produces 18.7PS of power and 17.1Nm of torque and is paired to a 5-speed gearbox. We expect Hero to include fuel injection and make some minor tweaks to the engine to match the XPulse’s off-road ability. 

2: Design and features:
There are some design differences between the two. For starters, the XPulse 200 features a raised beak and handguards, while the XPulse 200T gets a traditional mudguard and misses out on the handguards. However, features such as LED lights at both ends, a digital instrument cluster with turn-by-turn navigation, Bluetooth connectivity and a top rack will be common to both variants.

3: Cycle parts:
The XPulse 200 as well as the 200T will feature similar suspension setup: telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear. However, as the XPulse 200T is a road-biased variant, we expect that its suspension setup will be on the firmer side than the XPulse 200's, and also offer less travel. Both the motorcycles will get disc brakes at either end and single-channel ABS will be offered as standard. While the off-road-focused XPulse 200 gets a 21-inch front and 18-inch rear spoke wheels, the XPulse 200T features 17-inch alloy wheels at both ends.

4: Price:
Hero hasn’t revealed the price yet, but we expect the XPulse 200 and Xpulse 200T to cost between Rs 1 lakh to 1.1 lakh (ex-showroom). Now, if Hero launches the XPulse at this price, what you'll get is the most affordable adventure motorcycle in the country! In this segment, its closest rival is the Royal Enfield Himayalan, which is priced at Rs 1.79 lakh (ex-showroom).
