From sporty scooters to adventure bikes, there are several alternatives to consider for the same price bracket. Take a look

EeVe India, an Orissa-based electric two-wheeler startup recently launched the Soul e-scooter in the Indian market at a price tag of Rs 1,39,900 (ex-showroom Delhi). If you find the e-scooter a little pricey for the specification and features it offers, worry not, as you have several options that you can go for in the same price bracket. Here are our top 5 picks:

    Ather 450X - Price: Rs 1,32,426

Ather Energy was one of the first manufacturers that offered a performance-packed and feature-loaded e-scooter in the country. The Ather 450X draws power from a 2.9kwh lithium-ion battery that lends the e-scooter a claimed range of 85km on eco mode and which requires 5 hours and 45mins to fully charge via a standard 5A plug. We've done a detailed road test of the scooter, and in our tests, it surprisingly returned more range than what they claimed. Moreover, the Warp mode was a revelation too, offering one of the quickest accelerations we’ve witnessed in a scooter.

    Yamaha Aerox 155 - Price: Rs 1,29,000

By saving up to Rs 9,400, you can get home one of the fastest petrol-powered scooters in the country, the Yamaha Aerox 155. The newly arrived performance-oriented scooter is powered by a Yamaha R15-derived 155cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that churns out 15PS and 13.9Nm. If you are worried about the mileage, fret not as the Aerox 155 has managed to deliver 48.625kmpl in the city and 42.26kmpl on the highway in our real-world mileage test. Take a look at our detailed review to know more about its performance, handling, and other details. On the features front, it gets an LED headlight and taillight, silent starter motor-generator, side stand engine cut-off, and a fully digital negative LCD instrument cluster which unfortunately misses out on navigation.

    TVS Apache RTR 200 4V - Price: Rs 1,38,890

At almost the same price point we also have a few motorcycles in the Indian market. From the best-selling TVS Apache range, you can have a look at the Apache RTR 200 4V's dual-channel ABS version which is priced at Rs 1,38,890 (ex-showroom Delhi). The Apache RTR 200 4V is the only motorcycle in its segment to have three riding modes (Rain, Urban and Sport) riding modes. It’s also one of the most feature-packed motorcycles in its segment complete with turn-by-turn navigation, all-LED lights, adjustable levers and suspension. We took the bike out for a spin and here’s what we think.

    Hero XPulse 200 4V - Price: Rs 1,28,150

The Hero XPulse 200 4V is the only bike in this list that is capable of serious off-roading. The XPulse 200 4V is priced at Rs 1,28,150 (ex-showroom Delhi) and is powered by a 199.6cc single-cylinder air-cooled 4-valve engine which now makes 19.1PS and 17.35Nm which is 1.02PS and 0.9Nm more than the 2V variant. Other updates to the ADV include revised gear ratios, a new 45-tooth rear sprocket, and a bigger 7-fin oil-cooler. These updates have made the motorcycle a much better all-round motorcycle than the 2V variant. Additionally, the bike offers slightly better mileage than its predecessor. Oh, and to ensure you don’t get lost in your adventures, this one also comes with turn-by-turn navigation like the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V.

    Bajaj Pulsar F250 - Price: Rs 1,40,000

Bajaj recently expanded its Pulsar portfolio with the launch of the biggest Pulsar yet, the Pulsar F250. The semi-faired bike is priced very close to the EeVe Soul at Rs 1.40 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). At this price point, the Pulsar F250 is offered with features such as all-LED lights, a USB charging port, and a semi-digital instrument cluster. However, the instrument cluster misses out on turn-by-turn navigation. Powering the Pulsar F250 is a 249cc single-cylinder oil-cooled engine that puts out 24.5PS and 21.5Nm. If you’re looking for a sporty tourer with decent performance and great ride quality, the Pulsar F250 is a good choice.

The scooter is amazing. Great performance and good mileage as well was getting around 35 kmpl in city. Great handling and high-speed stability with good breaks. Everything is good but the scooter is not suitable for tall riders. The boot could fit an entire full-face helmet inside as well along with space to keep a jacket as well.
