Simple One Gen 2 vs Ather 450X: Which One Wins?
One of these e-scooters offers more than 1.5 times the range of the other, but there’s more to them than just the range
Simple Energy recently launched the Simple One Gen 2 e-scooter in India. At Rs 1,69,999 (ex-showroom, Delhi), it rivals the Ather 450X 3.4kWh variant, and here’s how they compare in terms of their specs:

The impressive claimed range of 265km, offered by the Simple One Gen 2 is one of its biggest advantages. Compared to the Ather 450X, it delivers about 104km more range, which is quite significant, and should make a noticeable difference in day-to-day usage. The Simple One Gen 2 also offers a higher top speed, and is quicker to 40kmph, making it a good choice for riders who want exciting performance. While the Ather 450X takes less time to charge up to 80 percent, when you factor in its shorter range, the faster charging time does not make much sense.

Both e-scooters are largely similar in terms of their underpinnings. They come with similar frame types, suspension setups, and braking hardware, and both run on 12-inch alloy wheels. The key difference here is the wider rear tyre on the Ather 450X, which should make it feel slightly grippier in corners compared to the narrower rear tyre on the Simple One Gen 2.

The Ather 450X features a shorter wheelbase, which should make it feel more agile, and flickable in city traffic. In contrast, the Simple One Gen 2 has a longer wheelbase, which should translate to a slightly more stable highway ride at higher speeds.
Another notable difference between the two e-scooters is their kerb weight. The Ather 450X is 17.4kg lighter than the Simple One Gen 2, which is a significant margin for a scooter. This lower weight, combined with the shorter wheelbase, should make the Ather easier to ride and manage in urban conditions.

Both e-scooters are well-equipped in terms of features. The Simple One Gen 2 offers larger underseat storage than the Ather, making it more convenient for carrying groceries. Just like the Ather 450 Apex and Ather Rizta, the brand recently introduced its 'Infinite Cruise' feature on the 450X as well. Both of the cruise control systems, on these e-scooters work quite similarly, and makes using cruise control a lot easier and hassle free.

In conclusion, while the new Simple One Gen 2 is only Rs 4,952 more expensive than the Ather 450X, it offers a significantly better claimed range and stronger overall performance figures. Although both scooters are neck and neck in terms of features, the Simple One edges ahead with marginally better equipment and a larger underseat storage. That said, Ather’s biggest advantage remains its widespread sales and service network, which Simple Energy is still working to match.
User Reviews
It has clean finishing good looking, thin having, good mileage, having better features than any other petrol scooter, it is electric vehicle it is sports scooter so it has modes too fast charging service centre is available. I had done something around 12000 km driven this scooter for long ride it isn't good it is slightly uncomfortable it could give you back pain and scooter may could get heat if you are riding in the summer weather. This scooter isn't for long ride but if you want this for going to college, school or for work it's good vehicle. This scooter looks attractive and has good enough speed to reach the destination. Its good scooter you can go for it if you want. Read More
looks are good but cost is higher and range is unreliable and comfort is not too harsh and not so comfortable it's decent but performance is good but brightness of the monitor is not good and not visible at sunny days and because it is an electric vehicle it's not valued for spending 2 lacs or above on a electric scooter.Read More
