BREAKING: Honda XR300 Rally & XR300 L Launched In India

Honda’s latest adventure bikes are finally here!

Quick News Highlights:

  • Official bookings have begun at Rs 5,000

  • Power figures and dimensions are yet to be revealed

The Honda XR300 Rally and the XR 300L have been launched in India at Rs 2,08,000 and Rs 1,83,000 (ex-showroom, Bangalore), respectively. Honda has also commenced official bookings for the motorcycles through its BigWing dealerships, with the booking amount set at Rs 5,000.

What We Know So Far

Both the Honda XR300 Rally and the Honda XR300 L are powered by a 293.5cc air- and oil-cooled single-cylinder engine derived from the (now discontinued) CB300F. In the CB300F, this engine produced 24.4 PS and 25.6 Nm. Honda is expected to have retuned the motor in the XR300 Range to offer stronger low-end performance, which should make it better suited to off-road riding.

The XR300 Rally gets rally-inspired styling, slim bodywork, hand guards and a high-swept exhaust. It also gets long-travel suspension, a large 21-inch front wheel, dual-purpose tyres and generous ground clearance.

Meanwhile, the XR300 L, is the dual-sport sibling of the two. With minimal bodywork and no windscreen, the bike will be lighter than the Rally but is expected to have the same underpinnings.

Feature highlights include a TFT instrument console with Honda RoadSync connectivity, Bluetooth, turn-by-turn navigation and call and SMS alerts on the XR300 Rally. The XR300 L gets a simple LCD console with no connectivity features. Safety equipment includes switchable dual-channel ABS, along with switchable traction control.

However, Honda has not yet revealed the detailed specifications, including the exact power and torque figures, kerb weight, suspension travel and wheel sizes.

BikeDekho Says

The Honda XR300 Range are an interesting alternative to the Hero Xpulse 210 and the TVS Apache RTX 300. With rugged design, off-road hardware and Honda’s reputation for reliability, they could make them an appealing option for riders who want an adventure motorcycle that can handle both everyday riding and trails.
