Will Royal Enfield Launch The Interceptor 750? We Answer

Well, the answer could be good news to some and bad to others

The Royal Enfield Continental GT 750 was recently unveiled at EICMA 2026, and with its unveiling, one important question is; what about the Interceptor 750? After all, the Interceptor 650 has been a choice for people who wanted the thrill of the 650 cc twin without facing the discomfort of the Continental GT 650’s ergonomics. However, the answer to that question can be good news to some and bad news to others. Here's why:

The Royal Enfield Interceptor will remain a 650 cc version, and the brand has confirmed that the bike won't be getting the new 750 cc motor. The Interceptor 650 is one of the most affordable 650 cc bikes you can buy today, and giving it the 750 treatment would surely take its pricing higher. Instead, Royal Enfield has chosen to prioritise keeping the price more attainable while also making the Interceptor 650 more premium by adding features that matter.

In the future updates, Royal Enfield will equip the Interceptor with features such as adjustable suspension and a dual-disc brake setup, which would increase its premium appeal and give customers at least the hardware from the Continental GT 750.

We have tested the Interceptor 650 thoroughly, and it is still a very nice motorcycle to ride and own. Its 649 cc engine makes 47 PS and 52 Nm, delivering smooth and effortless performance in the city and out on the highway. Overall, it is a very likable motor with loads of character.

However, for people who want more performance from their retro roadster, this could be bad news, because the settling point will remain the Interceptor 650.

BikeDekho Says

All said and done, Royal Enfield is very clear with its strategy. The Interceptor 650 will remain the most affordable twin-cylinder bike in the lineup, but the brand will give it some fancy bits to increase its premium appeal. On the other hand, if you want more performance, the Continental GT 750 will be the more performance-oriented bike, with its bigger engine, cafe racer styling, and a sportier riding position.

User Reviews

Royal Enfield Interceptor 650

Interceptor 650 has been an amazing bike to own. The 650cc parallel twin engine is smooth, powerful and fun to ride specially on highways. The exhaust note is addictive and the bike feel very stable on high speed, overall a great combination of performance, classic looks and riding experience. I have thoroughly enjoyed owning and riding it. Read More
