350cc Royal Enfield Bikes To Get A Free Gear-Position Indicator Upgrade

Royal Enfield Classic 350, Hunter 350, Goan Classic 350 and Meteor 350 manufactured after August 2025 will get this

Royal Enfield has restarted the fitment of the gear position indicator on select 350cc bikes after resolving supply constraints that had temporarily affected the feature's availability. Eligible owners can now get the component installed free of cost at authorised Royal Enfield service centres.

Which Bikes Are Eligible?

The update applies to the following Royal Enfield models manufactured after August 2025:

The Bullet 350 is not part of this update, as it was never offered with a gear position indicator, even before the supply shortage. Not every motorcycle from this period will necessarily qualify, as eligibility is determined using the bike's Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). Owners can check with their nearest authorised service centre to confirm whether their motorcycle is covered under this campaign.

Royal Enfield Is Delivering On Its Earlier Promise

Last year, Royal Enfield had temporarily stopped fitting the gear position indicator because of a shortage of rare-earth materials required to manufacture the component. At the time, the company had assured customers that once the supply chain issues were resolved, it would retrofit the feature on affected motorcycles at no additional cost.

With component availability back to normal, Royal Enfield has now begun carrying out that commitment.

Free Installation At Authorised Service Centres

Owners of eligible motorcycles can visit any authorised Royal Enfield workshop to have the gear position indicator installed. The company is carrying out the fitment free of charge as part of this update.

Why Does A Gear Position Indicator Matter?

A gear position indicator displays the currently engaged gear on the instrument console, making it easier for riders to know when to upshift or downshift. While experienced riders may not rely on it much, it is a useful aid for beginners as it helps avoid riding in the wrong gear and makes everyday commuting more convenient.

A True Classic That Never Fails to Impress

I chose the Royal Enfield Classic 350 because of its powerful engine, attractive design, strong build quality, comfortable ride, and amazing road presence. It feels premium, reliable, and every ride on it is truly enjoyable. The ride has been enjoyable overall. The Classic 350 feels comfortable and gives a royal, king-like riding experience. Its power delivery is smooth, highway stability is excellent, and the handling feels confident once you get used to the weight. It isn't meant for high speed or great mileage, and its heavy build may not suit everyone. Long-distance rides can feel tiring, but for short highway trips and city rides, it offers a unique charm and an enjoyable riding experience. Yes, I would recommend the Royal Enfield Classic 350, but not to everyone. If you love a strong road presence, classic looks, and a relaxed riding experience, this bike is worth it. It gives you confidence every time you ride, and after getting used to it, many other bikes feel less exciting. However, it's heavy, not very fuel-efficient, and the price is on the higher side. If you can't handle a heavy motorcycle, it's better to look at other options. Buy it for its character, comfort, and killer looks not for mileage or top speed.Read More

Great bike

Overall the bike is great for both city and highway rides as I stand 6.2 ft at 88 kg and it quite nimble as well as the weight distribution is very good with great torque and power figures. It’s a comfortable bike but the rear suspension is a bit stiff which can easily be resolved by replacing it with the classic Nitrox ones and it’s decently priced as well. However the biggest cons I found was the front led headlight which is honestly pathetic and the unreliable fuel tank indicator.Read More

Royal enfield the build machine

My first preference is short height bike because it's easy to handle it plus maintenance was so reliable. As per compare to the other with the same segment Hunter is far better then others. I really love to ride royal enfield bikes. For the city riding you love it like handling was very amazing plus throttle response is very amazing. For the lobby route you can adjust your seat or add some cusion over the seat or buy the new seat. For the city purpose you can buy this bike only. As I have a classic 350 and metor. l really like to ride hunter only because that machine is more powerfull as compared to other RE machine like the engine sound and silencer sound without changing any parts it shows the old version one.
