BREAKING: Ola Gig & S1 Z Scooter Range Launched In India

Ola has launched new electric scooters range, Gig and S1 Z. Both the scooter range get removable batteries as standard. 

Ola Gig and Gig+

The Ola Gig is a barebones scooter as it does not get any panels. The Gig gets a single LED headlight. Ola Gig is available in two variants: Gig and Gig+. The standard Gig is a slow-speed scooter which gets no panels and no infotainment display, a single seat with a storage rack at the rear. 

The scooter gets a 1.5kWh battery capacity and is paired to a 250W motor. Ola claims the standard Gig will reach a top-speed of 25kmph and have a certified range of 112km. The standard Gig gets a single portable battery.

The Gig+ comes with panels at the front, gets an LCD screen and a single seat with a storage rack behind it. The scooter comes with a single 1.5kWh battery which is extendable to two. The battery is paired to a motor which makes 1.5kW and has a claimed top-speed of 45kmph. Ola claims that the scooter with a single battery will deliver a range of 81km and with dual batteries it will do 157km on a full charge.

Ola S1 Z and S1 Z+

Ola S1 Z gets a design which we might have previously seen on other electric scooters. The scooter gets LED lights all round and is available in two variants: Z and Z+. The difference between the standard Z and Z+ is that of accessories. The Z gets a standard double seat while the Z+ gets a single seat with storage rack on the front apron and in-place of the rear seat. 

Both the Z variants come with a single 1.5kWh battery which can be extended to two and makes a peak power of 3kW. Ola claims the scooters will reach a top-speed of 70kmph, do the 0-40kmph sprint in 4.7 seconds and will have a range of 75km with a single battery and 146km with dual batteries. The scooter rides on 14-inch wheels on both ends, gets an LCD screen and smartphone connectivity. 

Price and Delivery Dates

Prices for the Ola Gig start from Rs 39,999 for the standard Gig variant and Rs 49,999 for the Gig+ variant. 

The Ola S1 Z starts from Rs 59,999 for the Z variant and Rs 64,999 for the Z+ variant. 

All the above mentioned prices are for a single battery.

Ola says that deliveries for the Gig will begin in the month of April 2025 and for S1 Z it will begin in May 2025. 

Rivals

Once launched the Ola Gig will go against other slow-speed electric scooters such as Komaki X One and Avon E Scoot 504. The Ola S1 Z will go against the likes of Yulu Wynn and Zelio Eeva in India.
