Ola has launched the Gig and Gig+ electric scooters and here’s all you need to know about them.

How many variants does the Ola Gig come in?

The Ola Gig comes in two variants: Gig and Gig+. The Gig standard variant is priced from Rs 39,999 while the Gig+ is priced from Rs 49,999 (both prices ex-showroom, Delhi)

How many colours does the Ola Gig get?

Both the variants of the Ola Gig come in a single colour option as for now. The standard variant gets white coloured panel below the seat while the whole scooter is exposed as it does not get any panels. 

The Ola Gig+ gets the same white panel below the seat and it receives a black front apron with the chassis finished in red which adds a nice contrast. 

What are the battery specifications of the Ola Gig?

The standard variant of the Ola Gig gets a 1.5kWh battery capacity and is paired to a 250W motor. Ola claims the standard Gig will reach a top-speed of 25kmph and have a certified range of 112km. The standard Gig gets a single portable battery.

The Ola Gig+ too comes with a single 1.5kWh battery but an additional 1.5kWh battery can be added to it.. The battery is paired to a motor which makes 1.5kW and has a claimed top-speed of 45kmph. Ola claims that the scooter with a single battery will deliver a range of 81km and with dual batteries it will do 157km on a full charge. 

Do you need a license to ride the Ola Gig?

You neither need a license to ride the Ola Gig electric scooter nor do you have to register it with the RTO, but that is only applicable to the standard variant as it is a low-speed scooter. The top variant, though, will require a license to ride to ride and would need to be registered with the RTO.  

What are the underpinnings of the Ola Gig?

The Ola Gig and Gig+ share the same chassis, telescopic fork, 12-inch alloy wheels and drum brakes at both ends and a storage rack behind the seat along with small cubby holes on the front apron. 

What features does the Old Gig get?

The standard variant of the Ola Gig gets a straight LED headlight at the front, a QR code attached on the handlebar to unlock the vehicle and a single battery which can be swapped. 

The Ola Gig+ gets a round LED headlight, an LCD screen, and extra space to add another battery to the vehicle which will extend the scooter’s range. 

When will the Ola Gig deliveries begin?

Ola has mentioned that deliveries for both the variants of the Gig electric scooter will begin in April 2025. 

Whom does the Ola Gig compete against?

Once launched the Ola Gig will go against other low-speed electric scooters such as Komaki X One and Avon E Scoot 504.
