Royal Enfield has finally launched the Scram 440 in India with a starting price of Rs 2,08,000 (ex-showroom Delhi). The bike now comes with a bigger engine, a refreshed design, a new headlight, and a new instrument console.

The  Royal Enfield Scram 440 comes in 2 variants: Trail and Force. The trail variant is fitted with spoke wheels and tube tyres and the Force variant is fitted with alloy wheels and tubeless tyres. It has 4 colour options: blue, green, grey and teal. Below is the variant and colour-wise price list: 

The Scram 440 will compete against the likes of the new Triumph Scrambler 400X and the Yezdi Scrambler.

Here’s what the new Scram 440 gets:

In terms of design, the 2025 Royal Enfield Scram 440 comes with a similar silhouette as the Royal Enfield Scram 411. It now has an all-new LED headlight, a bulkier fuel tank, a new seat and a tweaked tail section that looks slimmer than before.

The Royal Enfield Scram 440 is powered by a 443cc, air & oil-cooled, single-cylinder engine, which is basically a bigger version of the same 411cc engine. It delivers a peak output of 25.4PS at 6,250rpm and 34Nm at 4,000rpm (1.1PS and 2Nm more than before). The engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission as compared to the 5-speed gearbox on the previous model. This means the bike would likely be better for long highway touring, as it should be able to sustain high speeds for longer durations.

The Scram 440 gets a 41mm telescopic fork with 190mm of wheel travel and a monoshock with 180mm of whheel travel. Braking duties are handled by the same 300mm disc at the front and a 240mm disc at the rear as before, with dual-channel ABS (switchable at the rear) as standard. The switchable ABS  at the rear provides controlled braking and will also help you to slide the bike around on off-road.

The bike comes fitted with 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels, wrapped with 100-section front and 120-section rear block pattern tyres. The Trail variant has spoke wheels and tubed tyres. Whereas, the force variant has alloy wheels and tubeless tyres. The 795mm seat height and 200mm ground clearance remain the same as before. The fuel tank capacity also remains unchanged at 15 litres, however, the dry weight of the new Scram 440 has been increased by 2kg, which is now 187kg (196kg kerb weight).

This was a much-needed upgrade for the Scram 440. With a bigger engine, refreshed design and an extra gear, the bike is now more appealing than before. The alloy wheel and tubeless tyre variants will also eliminate worry of punctures and in addition to the 6th gear, the Scram 440 should be a much better tourer than the Scram 411. With Royal Enfield’s lineup becoming more modern nowadays, the upgrades should keep the Scram relevant for a longer period of time now.
