Royal Enfield has launched a new Shadow Ash paint scheme for the Guerrilla 450. Priced at Rs 2,49,000 (ex-showroom, Chennai), the new colour option takes the colours available for Royal Enfield’s 450cc roadster to seven.

The Shadow Ash finish is matte with a mix of olive green along with black scheme. It is designed to give the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 a more stealthy, muscular look. The logos are in a sky blue paint scheme.

The offset fuel tank cap is finished in black, whereas it gets rim tapes for half of the wheels in sky blue, adding to the funky character of the bike. All in all, this colour scheme offers a nice balance of looking premium and subtle at the same time.

The new colour was officially revealed at Royal Enfield’s ‘GRRR Nights x Underground’ event in Pune, an evening that combined motorcycle showcases with stunt shows, drift sessions and music performances.

The bike is available in 3 variants with different colour schemes: the base Analogue variant (Rs 2,39,000), the mid-spec Dash at Rs 2,49,000 and the top Flash version at Rs 2,54,000 (all prices ex-showroom Chennai). The new colour scheme is part of the Dash variant.

The base Analogue variant gets a semi-digital console with Royal Enfield’s Tripper turn-by-turn navigation pod while the Dash and Flash variants get the round 4-inch colour TFT console. This console features a full-fledged navigation. The bike also gets 2 ride modes: Eco and Performance, a USB charging port - common across all variants.

With the addition of this new colour, there’re now a total of 7 colours available for this Royal Enfield bike. The Analogue comes in Smoke Silver; the Dash in Playa Black, Gold Dip, Peix Bronze, Shadow Ash and the Flash in Brava Blue, Yellow Ribbon.

Mechanically, the Guerrilla 450 continues to be powered by the 452cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled ‘Sherpa’ engine that’s shared with the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450. It makes 40PS at 8,000rpm, 39Nm at 5,500rpm, and is paired to a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch.

The engine is powerful enough for cruising easily at triple-digit speeds. That said, the 11-litre fuel tank capacity may not be good enough for long distance tours, so it’s ideal for those looking for a powerful roadster for the city, as well as for the occasional weekend rides. If frequent touring is your thing, then you can check out the Himalayan.
