The Tiger 900 is an all new motorcycle with new bodywork, motor and underpinnings. It gets a minimalist bodywork and looks more purposeful (read rally-ready) than its 800cc predecessor. It gets a new BS6-compliant 888cc liquid-cooled in-line triple motor. The motor has an unique 1-3-2 firing order that allows for better low-end performance and a sportier exhaust note. While power output remains the same 95PS, torque has gone up by 8Nm and peaks at 87Nm now. The electronics package has received a boost as well. It gets six rider modes: Rain, Road, Sport, Off-Road, Rider, and Off-Road Pro (in Rally Pro trim); cornering ABS, and a bi-directional quickshifter.

It gets 19-inch front/17-inch rear alloy wheels shod with Metzeler Tourance tyres. The top-spec Tiger 900 Rally Pro variant gets fully-adjustable Showa upside-down forks and Showa monoshock. The motorcycle gets laced wheels that allow for fitment of tubeless tyres. It continues to use the same  Bridgestone Battlax Adventure tyres as its predecessor. All Tiger 900 models get top-spec Brembo Stylema calipers.

Triumph is expected to price the new Tiger 900 range between Rs 13 lakh and Rs 16 lakh.
