2025 Bajaj Pulsar NS125 vs Hero Xtreme 125R: Which One Has Better Features?

Small price difference, but BIG gap in features

The recently updated Bajaj Pulsar NS125 ABS variant (called Pulsar NS125 LED BT ABS) now comes with ABS modes and a couple of other changes. It goes up against the top-end Hero Xtreme 125R ABS variant. We compare both the bikes to give you a better idea of which one has more features.

The Bajaj Pulsar NS125 is a lot more feature-packed as it now comes with a more premium looking LCD console - same unit that we have seen on the Bajaj Pulsar NS160. It looks much better and the features like turn-by-turn navigation will be quite useful.

The bike also gets 3 ABS modes: Road, Rain and Off-road, which modulate the level of intervention. In fact, this is the only 125cc bike in India with ABS modes. You can read more about this particular variant in our launch story.

The Hero Xtreme 125R, on the other hand, manages to cover the basics, with single-channel ABS and call/SMS alerts. The lack of more features might not seem like a big deal but the shortcoming is really apparent when you compare the prices of both the bikes.

The Rs 3,896 premium over the Xtreme for a more feature-packed console and ABS modes seem to be a great deal if you’re looking for a sporty 125cc commuter bike with good features. However, it looks pretty much like any other bike in the Pulsar NS series, so some might find the Hero Xtreme 125R a better choice if they want unique looks, is affordable, while also having the basic set of features in place.

That said, if you’re planning to buy the Xtreme 125R, we’d suggest you wait a bit more as it is set to get a major update, including even a cruise control system!

We have also done a similar comparison between the top variants of the Pulsar NS125 and the TVS Raider 125.

For daily city riding the engine is smooth and responsive. It’s particularly good for overtaking and quick acceleration compared with many conventional 125cc commuters bikes. VERY GOOD PERFORMANCE

Service and maintenance charge is normal, mileage is 50 - 55 kmpl on highway, 45-50 kmpl in cities and streets. Overall, it is a quite good bike with good performance and minimal costs. Everyday rides upto hundred kms can be done easily, I ride daily around 80 kms and it is very easy for me and it's a sports bike even with only 125 CC engine.Read More
