TVS Jupiter 125 Launch: What To Expect?

From estimated launch timeline to pricing and features, here’s what we can expect from the upcoming TVS Jupiter 125

From estimated launch timeline to pricing and features, here’s what we can expect from the upcoming TVS Jupiter 125

[UPDATE: TVS has launched its second 125cc scooter, called the Jupiter 125, with prices starting from Rs 73,400 (ex-showroom).]

As of now, TVS has only one scooter in the 125cc segment. While the TVS NTorq 125 may be sporty and youth-centric, the Hosur-based brand does not have anything for more mature buyers in this segment. So if you think about it, the TVS Jupiter 125 seems like the perfect scooter to fill this gap. While there’s no official confirmation yet, here’s what we can expect from the upcoming scooter:

Launch Timeline and Pricing

The TVS Jupiter 125 is likely to be launched somewhere around September this year. This should help TVS capitalise on the extra demand in the subsequent months of the festive season. If you’re wondering how much it’s going to cost, we believe it could be positioned around the same ballpark as the TVS NTorq 125, which starts from Rs 70,555 (ex-showroom Delhi) for the base front drum variant. The Jupiter 125 will basically serve as the more practical, family-friendly alternative to the NTorq 125.

Feature List

The 110cc TVS Jupiter itself is loaded to the brim with enough features and we expect TVS to carry over all the bits to the bigger-engined Jupiter 125. So it could come with an external fuel-filler cap, apron-mounted cubby hole, USB charging port, parking brake, underseat boot light, silent starter, metal bodywork, LED headlight, and tail lamp.

Besides, TVS may also offer an integrated lock switch for effortless opening of the boot. The instrument cluster is likely to be fully digital, but unlike the NTorq 125, it may not come with a lap timer and acceleration timer as they aren’t really necessary in a family scooter. That said, expect essential features such as turn-by-turn navigation and call/SMS alert. If we’re lucky, the instrument cluster may come with a real-time mileage indicator as well.

Being a 125cc scooter, we expect a longer, comfier seat and not to mention, a slightly bigger underseat storage space.

Powertrain and Underpinnings

TVS already has a potent 125cc engine powering the NTorq 125. We expect the brand to use the same motor in the Jupiter 125 as well. However, it could be tuned to be slightly mellow to suit the family scooter’s character. In the NTorq, the 124.8cc single-cylinder air-cooled fuel-injected 3-valve motor churns out 9.38PS at 7000rpm and 10.5Nm at 5500rpm.

As far as the underpinnings are concerned, the bigger-engined Jupiter is likely to carry over the 110cc Jupiter’s telescopic front fork, rear gas-charged monoshock, front disc, rear drum, and 12-inch alloy wheels for optimum ride quality.

If our analysis is spot on, then with the Jupiter 125, TVS might just be able to crack the highly competitive 125cc family scooter segment dominated by heavyweights such as the Suzuki Access 125, Honda Activa 125, Hero Destini 125, and Yamaha Fascino 125. Fingers crossed until then!

Best family 125CC scooter in India

Family-oriented scooter and comfortable for city rides with soft suspension and reliability of TVS. The Jupiter is itself a very big name in the scooter market for over a decade and provides the complete, balanced package. The scooter is smooth, and the space is more than enough, the only problem is that it doesn't give confidence during overtakes. The service centre experience is also not good, but overall the scooter is a complete package. Yes, 100% to people who are looking for a no-nonsense scooter with comfort and space on daily rides from point A to B with decent power dynamics and a lot of space, and the scooter provides all required features.Read More

overall review

Overall best for family use. Features and performance are great, assist works bit laggy, when compared to final model, kicker is good but display experience varies. I take home 1,16700 on 07/07/2026, Trijal motors Bengaluru. Maintenance must be frequent for breaks. Seating capacity is best it holds two helmets. Good for metro cities.Read More

Comfort, Spacious, Easy if driving, Feature loaded

For comfort, Good looks, storage, Low maintenance, Fuel injection convenience and special features like Engine rest. It is easy to manage. Engine has never disappointed at any time. Self start is also best in class. Over all best 125 cc scooter in the segment. Speed is decent for city ride, mileage is fair enough with east of refueling. Parts availability is also good never faced any problem with that. Engine cut feature is amazing and quick reactive. Overall best in class in terms of ride quality. Yes for sure. Best for anyone who is looking for a city ride. Family friendly with easy to drive even for lady drivers. Scooter is little on a heavier side but that should not be any issue if you are an experienced driverRead More

TVS Jupiter 125 most reliable.

This scooter is so reliable in terms of looks, mileage, family use and off course it's all colour is fabulous which make this scooter eye catching. All the new features makes it more bulky in terms of connectivity and rider friendly. The ride is very comfortable, few in once the road bumps felt a bit but off course the smoothest ride experience i've ever got as compared to other scooters. The navigation and smart x connect makes it more fuel efficient, rider friendly and futuristic. I surely suggest or recommend this scooter because it's excellent in looks, mileage, family friendly and off course the reliable in its segment. All the new features like adjustable shock absorbers, DT SXC, Disk breaks, colour tone, and fuel tank refill mouth are truly a blessing for any scooter person.Read More
