TVS Apache Sales: 60 Lakh Bikes Sold In Just 20 Years

The TVS Apache series has been an important part of the Indian performance motorcycle segment for the past two decades, delivering great performance, style, and thrill to biking enthusiasts. With over 60 lakh units sold worldwide, the Apache series stands as one of the most successful and iconic motorcycle brands in India.

TVS Apache Series

First launched in 2005, the Apache 150 was born out of TVS Motor Company's passion for racing and innovation. The TVS bike was designed to provide a perfect blend of a powerful motor, great chassis, and sporty styling. Over the years, the series has undergone significant transformations, with new models and variants being introduced to cater to the evolving needs of riders.

TVS RTR And RR 

The RTR (Racing Throttle Response) series was launched in 2010, marking a significant milestone in TVS' journey towards creating performance oriented motorcycles for the masses. Apache RTRs were designed to deliver race bike-like throttle response and handling which gave the average rider a feel of riding a race bike. Currently TVS RTR series has the Apache RTR 160 2V, Apache 160 4V, Apache 180 2V, Apache 200 4V and the Apache RTR 310.

The RR (Race Replica) series was introduced back in 2017 with the Apache RR 310. The bike was the first from the TVS-BMW joint venture. The motorcycle has a full fairing, a trellis frame, and a powerful 312cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled motor. The motorcycle was updated last year, and became better than before.

Within these 2 decades, TVS Motor Company has been one of the most innovative two-wheeler brands in the country, introducing cutting-edge features most of which were segment first introductions. Features like slipper clutch, cruise control, adjustable suspension, riding modes and many other important additions. 

The TVS Apache series has come a long way since its introduction. It has always been an enthusiast-oriented brand which has provided Indian riders with a thrilling experience.  Other than this, the brand has been introducing a whole range of scooters and motorcycles along with some innovative EVs. TVS also showcased their new adventure motorcycle called the RTX 300 at the Auto expo 2025.
