Royal Enfield has sold more than 5,000 units of the 650 twins since their launch in November last year. Considering that the bikes have been on sale for five months now and that no other 650cc motorcycles have been able to match these numbers, it’s quite an achievement for the Chennai-based bikemaker.
Royal Enfield’s closest competitor, Harley-Davidson, is having a hard time keeping up, sales wise. In fact, the American bikemaker sold just 1,513 units of its entry-level models (Street 750 and Street Rod) in financial year 2018-19.
Since both the bikes have received a massive response in India, Royal Enfield is finding it quite difficult to keep up with the demand. The current waiting period for both the motorcycles is four to six months, depending on the variant you choose. However, the company is aiming to reduce the waiting period by increasing the production of the 650 twins from 2,500 units to 5,000 units. However, even by increasing the capacity by such an extent, we don’t expect the waiting period to go down significantly. Because with a starting price of Rs 2.5 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), the Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT are the most affordable 650cc bikes available in India right now.
On the other hand, when it comes to exports, Harley-Davidson had an upper hand. Harley exported 5,395 units of its entry-level models as opposed to Royal Enfield’s 4,442 units. And to expand its footprint, Royal Enfield is now focussing on other Asian markets. First, Royal Enfield had announced that it will be setting up its CKD plant outside India in Thailand. The company is currently planning to set up 15 dealerships and 25 service centres across Thailand by March 2020. The company has also opened its first flagship store in Seoul, South Korea.

I choose this bike because. It gives you good features in this range and it moves smoothly on highways as compare to city but it is comfortable in city also. If you are buying this for long drives then you should buy this. Smooth on highway as compare to city its feature are far better than any other bikes and handling is so smooth if you are beginer than you should buy this one it will give you comfort while riding the bike. You should have Muscle power to control this above 20 year old person should buy this because if customer weight is not much then he can't even move it while off.
