Reise Moto has launched a new set of steel-belted radial tyres, called the Reise Tracerad. These tyres are specially designed for 200-400cc sportbikes and streetfighters. We got a chance to test them extensively on a racetrack and below is a comprehensive review of the same.
What do the new Reise Tracerad Steel Radial Tyres offer?
The new Reise Tracerad tyres are available in 110-section and 150-section configurations. These are high-performance steel-belted radial tyres. Generally, steel-belted radial tyres are known for durability and strength. These tyres are made up of steel belts inside the tyre, between the nylon and rubber layers. The steel radial tyres are better than non-radial or bias-ply tyres as they are stronger because of the steel layers inside. Such tyres provide better stability, handling and braking and are more puncture-resistant as compared to regular non-radial tyres.
The Reise front 110-section tyre is available for Rs 5,199 and the rear 150-section tyre is priced at Rs 6,199, respectively. That means, a pair will cost you Rs 11,398. Additionally, Reise is also offering a 6-year standard warranty. The Reise Tracerad Steel Radial tyres are suitable for sporty and naked 200-400cc bikes like the KTM Duke & RC range, Suzuki Gixxer 250 range, TVS Apache RR 310 and RTR 310, Aprilia RS 457, Yamaha R3 and more.
How do the Reise Tracerad tyres perform on the Racetrack?
We got a chance to test the all-new Reise Tracerad tyres at the CoASTT (Coimbatore Autosports and Transport Trust) High-Performance Centre’s Racetrack at Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. The tyres looked very good on the KTM RC 390. Their broad profile and lightning bolt-shaped grooves make them look sporty. I also noticed that the Reise Tracerads have deeper grooves, which means these tyres will provide good grip and are less likely to wear out quickly.
At the track, the tyres felt pretty grippy and inspired confidence. They were very stable while accelerating in a straight line and were equally flickable while tipping into the corners. The tyres felt very lightweight and smooth to ride with. On the first few laps, when I entered the corner and thought that was the most lean I could do on the TraceRads, they surprised me as there was enough room to lean more.
The Reise TraceRad tyres worked super efficiently even while hard braking. When I overshot a few corners and was at a higher speed than I should have been, the TraceRads did not let me lose my confidence and provided a strong grip under hard braking. This helped me slow down on time and correct my lines on the track. Even though it rained the previous day and there was a bit of dirt on a few corners, the Reise TraceRads never slipped even once, and that too with the acceleration of a torquey bike like the RC 390.
There were easily over 50 people of different skill levels testing these tyres, including myself, and I never saw anyone slide off the track due to a lack of grip from the tyres. That’s how good they are. The Reise TraceRad tyres go against the likes of Apollo Alpha H1 and TVS Eurogrip Protorq Extreme, and having used both of them on the track as well, I have to say that they have now got a worthy competitor in the market. Moreover, Reise Moto has priced them very nicely at under Rs 11,400, which will make sure to keep the rivals in check.
Reise Moto claims that the new TraceRad tyres will last for around 12,000km easily when used extensively as we did on the racetrack. However, we will get to know the exact life of these tyres in the real-world when we will get them for a long-term review, which will happen soon.
