Pulsar 150 Becomes Highest-selling Bajaj Bike

The Bajaj Pulsar 150 continues to scorch the sales chart. Let’s find out why

The Bajaj Pulsar 150 continues to scorch the sales chart. Let’s find out why

  • Bajaj Auto sold 62,248 units of the Pulsar 150 in the month of June.
  • The Pulsar 150 is the most affordable ABS-equipped motorcycle you can buy right now.
  • It continues to be powered by a 149cc single-cylinder motor that puts out 14PS and 13.4Nm.

The Bajaj Pulsar 150 has witnessed an unprecedented growth in the past two months. Around 62,248 units of the motorcycle were sold in the month of June alone! Such has been the entry-level Pulsar’s growth that it even managed to outsell the aggressively priced Bajaj Platina. This has made it the highest-selling motorcycle in the company’s portfolio right now.

So what could have contributed towards its success? Well, despite being in the market for more than a decade, it continues to be one of the most value-for-money sporty commuter motorcycles you can buy right now. Not to mention, it is also the most affordable way to get into the Bajaj Pulsar family.

At Rs 71,200 (Pulsar 150 Neon) it is, in fact, the cheapest motorcycle to come with ABS. For reference, the Honda Unicorn CB 150 ABS is priced at Rs 72,633 (all prices, ex-showroom Delhi).

In terms of features, the motorcycle comes equipped with a semi-digital instrument console and an LED tail lamp. Pair this with a sharp design and the famous ‘Pulsar’ badge and you have one of the most aspirational motorcycles in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. This alone has helped it boost its sales figures by a good margin.

Powering it is still the same 149cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled motor which puts out 14PS of power at 8000rpm and 13.4Nm of torque at 6000rpm. While this engine hasn’t seen an update in a long time, the power and torque figures are adequate enough to handle your day-to-day rides.

Bajaj recently hiked the prices of the motorcycle. It is available in three variants: Standard ABS (front disc, rear drum) (Rs 84,960), Twin Disc ABS (Rs 88,838) and Neon ABS (Rs 71,200, all prices, ex-showroom Delhi). It currently competes against the TVS Apache RTR 160, Honda CB Unicorn 150 and the Hero Xtreme Sports.

reliable daily commuter with great mileage

Needed something dependable for daily city traffic that wouldn't eat up all petrol money. looked at a few other 150cc options but the pulsar 150 just felt like the right balance of price, low maintenance and that classic muscular look that never gets old. Honestly pretty smooth for daily running, engine has nice pickup in lower gears so overtaking in heavy trafffic is easy, getting a solid 45-50 km regularly, only slight downside is minor handle vibes past 85 kmph but for everyday city speeds, its steady and comfortable. Definitely 100 percent recommend it, if you want a reliable everyday bike with decent power and great fuel efficiency, maintenance is super cheap and spare parts are available anywhere. just a solid, no nonsense daily runner that gets the job done. A True All-Rounder in the 150cc Segment

I chose this bike because it feels smooth and stable on highways while still offering good control in the city, even though the suspension feels slightly stiff on rough roads. It gives good mileage, looks stylish and is comfortable enough for family rides, making it a practical and reliable choice. The ride so far has been very satisfying. It feels comfortable for daily use, gives good mileage and has strong pickup. Handling is stable and confident, especially on highways where it feels smooth and controlled even at higher speeds. Yes, I would recommend this bike. I bought it mainly for daily office travel and occasional weekend rides. It gives me decent mileage and the pickup is good enough for city traffic. On highways it feels stable and confident. The suspension is slightly stiff on rough roads but overall comfort is fine. If someone wants a practical, stylish and reliable bike in this budget, this is a good choice.Read More
