Bajaj has silently increased the ex-showroom price of its most popular motorcycle

  • Prices of all three variants of the Pulsar 150 have increased.
  • Despite the price hike, the Pulsar 150 remains the most affordable ABS equipped bike in India.
  • Apart from the Pulsar 150, prices of the Dominar 400 has also been revised.

Bajaj Auto has updated the prices of its motorcycles in India, including the Bajaj Pulsar 150. The entry-level Bajaj Pulsar 150 Neon is dearer by Rs 2,950, while the ex-showroom price of the Pulsar 150 and the Pulsar 150 twin disc has been increased by Rs 500. Bajaj officials haven’t given us any update on the reasoning for the price hike but we expect it to be due to rising input costs. Another reason for increasing the price of the Pulsar 150 Neon could be the fact that the company is planning to launch the Pulsar 125 in India soon. This will enable the brand to distinguish the two Pulsar bikes better with respect to pricing.

Despite its age, the Bajaj Pulsar 150 continues to impress with its sales performance. In fact, last month, the Bajaj Pulsar 150 was the highest selling bike in the Bajaj portfolio, trumping even the aggressively priced Bajaj Platina. One of the key reasons for the success of the Pulsar 150 is the fact that it still remains a feature-rich motorcycle and the Pulsar remains an aspirational brand in non-urban markets.
