The cause - “non-fitment of rear side reflector” on FZ-Fi and FZS-Fi models

The FZ models are among the most popular in Yamaha’s range but the 150cc versions are now facing a massive recall. India Yamaha Motor has announced an immediate recall of 7,757 FZ-Fi and FZS-Fi models. This recall has been brought about due to “non-fitment of the rear side reflector” on these bikes. Affected owners will be contacted individually by their respective dealers.

Both models were recently updated to comply with upcoming BS6 emission norms, losing some power and receiving a price hike in the process. They are now powered by a 149cc single-cylinder fuel-injected motor that produces 12.4PS and 13.6Nm, which means torque output has increased by a healthy 0.8Nm.

The BS6 update was also accompanied by the introduction of two new colours - metallic red and Darknight. Prices start at Rs 99,200 for the FZ-Fi while the FZS-Fi now costs Rs 1,01,200 (ex-showroom Delhi) — an increment of Rs 2,520 and Rs 2,600 from the BS4 models. The Darknight paint scheme will set you back by a further Rs 1,500.
