Honda calls it the ‘BABT’

Honda has teased an upcoming motorcycle on their BigWing India Instagram account and this bike could potentially be a rival to the Royal Enfield Classic 350. Honda has mentioned ‘BABT’ in the reel. While it’s still unclear as to what it means, let’s call it the Honda CB350 BABT, for now.

From the teaser we can see that the upcoming bike shares a few features in common with the Honda CB350 H’ness, like the alloy wheels, handlebar and switchgear. Additionally, several design features inspired from the H’ness – such as a split-seat setup – have been incorporated, though with a premium seat cover. That said, the contour of the seat may be slightly changed. The pillion grab rail looks similar to that of the H’ness, but the front fender looks different, and is likely a full-length metal unit.

We expect the Honda CB350 BABT to get a new fuel tank with a more rounded design, similar to the one seen on the Royal Enfield Classic 350. This will differentiate the upcoming bike from Honda’s current 350 lineup: the CB350RS and the H’ness CB350. That said, the rest of the mechanicals, including the engine, transmission, suspension and brakes will all likely be carried over to this bike.

The CB350 BABT may be launched in the coming weeks, at around Rs 2.2 lakh (ex-showroom). For perspective, the starting price of the H’ness CB350 is Rs 2,09,857, while that of the Honda CB350RS is Rs 2,14,856 (all ex-showroom Delhi). Besides the Royal Enfield Classic 350, the upcoming Honda 350cc bike will also rival the standard Jawa.
