Hero Xtreme 125R: Same Price, Other Options

The Hero Xtreme 125R brings styling and features that feel above its segment.  Priced from Rs 89,300 to Rs 1,05,500 (ex-showroom), it gets decent features even in the base trim. While the top variant packs in dual-channel ABS and even cruise control. It is one of the few 125cc motorcycles that delivers sporty performance and dynamic handling. Still, if you are not sure about the Xtreme 125R, there are many other options around the same price.

Bajaj Pulsar NS125

Price: Rs 92,760 - 99,073 (ex-showroom, Delhi)

If what draws you to the Xtreme 125R is its streetfighter design, the Bajaj Pulsar NS125 is a direct alternative you can consider. It adapts the familiar NS design language from the Bajaj Pulsar NS200 and Bajaj Pulsar NS160 to the 125cc segment. It is a genuinely sporty and the only motorcycle in this segment based on a perimeter frame. The latest update to the NS125 brought an LED headlamp, three ABS modes, an LCD console with Bluetooth connectivity and  turn-by-turn navigation. If someone wants a big bike feel with commuter-like mileage, no option stands close to the NS125.

TVS Raider 125

Price: Rs 82,000 - Rs 97,050 (ex-showroom, Delhi)

The TVS Raider 125 is a good alternative to the Xtreme 125R, as it combines better commuter usability with a polished features list and performance package. Its air-cooled engine makes 11.4PS and 11.75Nm with the iGO-assist, which provides a small torque boost during acceleration. With its two riding modes, you can choose whether you want better mileage or acceleration. Other highlights of the Raider include its digital console with connected features, Glide Through Traffic (GTT) which allows the bike at slow speeds without any throttle inputs, and even a TFT screen on the top version. 

Hero Xoom 125

Price: Rs 81,194 - 86,025 (ex-showroom, Delhi)

While the TVS Ntorq 125 Race XP is also a great sporty scooter, the Hero Xoom 125 feels like a closer alternative to a motorcycle, thanks to its 14-inch wheels. It gets an equally sporty styling with layered bodywork and a sharp looking projector headlamp. The engine makes 9.9PS, 10.4Nm engine, and Hero claims it goes from zero to 60kmph in 7.6 seconds, calling it the fastest in the segment. Moreover, it offers first-in-class sequential indicators, front storage with a USB charging port, and a digital dashboard with turn-by-turn navigation, and other connected features.

Vida VX2

Price: Rs 73,850 - 94,800 (ex-showroom, Delhi)

The Vida VX2 is another option that makes sense only if you are willing to rethink the format altogether. Being an electric scooter, it won’t replace the long-distance rideability or the mechanical feel of a petrol motorcycle, but for city users, it can remarkably reduce running costs. Plus, its removable battery is pretty durable and waterproof, and it can be charged anywhere, making the VX2 a smarter alternative for urban commuting. Its top-end Plus variant claims a range of 142km (IDC), 80kmph top speed, and zero to 40kmph in 3.1 seconds. Features-wise, it has a 4.3-inch LCD screen (TFT on top version) with Bluetooth connectivity, navigation, fast-charging support, and a reverse mode.

Oben Rorr EZ Sigma

Price: Rs 99,999 - 1,29,999 (ex-showroom, Delhi)

Now this is where the comparison takes a more interesting turn. The Rorr EZ Sigma is a good choice if you can live with the limitations of an electric motorcycle as compared to a petrol-powered one. We feel that the version with the 3.4 kWh battery pack, priced at Rs 1.09 lakh (ex-showroom), is all you need for your everyday city riding. It claims to have a range of 140km (IDC) and a top speed of 95kmph. It also has front and rear disc brakes, a reverse mode, regenerative braking, a 5-inch TFT with smartphone connectivity and GPS-based features.
