EXCLUSIVE: This Is The Story Behind The Bajaj Dominar 200 And 160
Recently, the Bajaj Dominar 200/160 grabbed eyeballs on the Internet. Read our exclusive story behind the bikes
Bajaj Auto is well known to have a healthy presence abroad, including certain Latin-American markets. Recently, the Brazilian-spec Bajaj Pulsar NS200, sold as the Bajaj Dominar 200 in the region, started doing rounds on the Internet.
Bajaj exists in as many as 61 countries outside of India but the Pune-based bikemaker entered the Brazilian market only in September 2022. According to our sources, this took a bit of time and effort as Brazil requires manufacturers from foreign countries to invest in the country should they enter their market. So when Bajaj finally set up its plant in Brazil for manufacturing bikes, it started off with the products built on the perimeter frame (a type of high strength frame used mostly in sport bikes), and marketed them all as versions of the Dominar. It makes sense as the Dominar is the halo range in the brand’s portfolio, and associating with that will also enhance the products’ premium quotient. In fact, Brazil is the only market where the Pulsars are sold with the Dominar nametag.
Apart from offering the Bajaj Dominar 400, Dominar 200 (a rebadged Bajaj Pulsar NS200), and the Dominar 160 (a rebadged Bajaj Pulsar NS160), the brand will also be launching its new-gen Pulsar range, including the Pulsar P150, Pulsar N160, Pulsar N250 and the Pulsar F250. Just like the Dominar 200 and 160, expect the rest of the new-gen Pulsar bikes to also sport an upside down fork (read more about the fork here). That said, Bajaj is still in the process of fully setting up its plant in Brazil, so the company will prioritise completing it before diving into new launches.

Good handling and medium breaking, medium performance for short time city and highway riding, good sharp stylish looking naked bike, good road presence, low service charge with medium mileage 30 to 40 kmpl. Long ride comfort is not good after 100km. Wrist pain and shoulder pain, good handling bike. It's give you confidence to flicker very easily. Front break is good stopping power but too much abs kicking problem, rear brake is not good, no stopping power. Top speed after 2nd service 124 highest, mileage not that good 40 km after simple riding. If you ride aggressively, mileage can drop upto 30-25 kmpl. Can recommend this bike to the youngsters who go to college and those who want to explore many places on bike. Short time riding and some time aggressive riding and those who want naked sports bike in low cc and low service charge bike, this is good for them.Read More
