Could be priced around Rs 3.3 lakh (ex-showroom)
-
Launch possible by end of this year
The KTM 390 SMC R has been spotted testing in India once again. It is the supermoto version of the 390 Enduro R, and check out the key details revealed in the spy shots.
Design
The supermoto shares much of its DNA with the 390 Enduro, but with modifications that cater to road focused performance. Just like a traditional supermoto, it gets a tall stance, a wide handlebar, a minimalistic headlight, and a high-mounted beak style front mudguard. The rear gets grab rails for the pillion and a saree guard - to comply with Indian regulations. Both these components are not seen on the global version.

Engine
The SMC R will be powered by the same 399cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine as the 390 Adventure, Adventure X, and the upcoming Enduro R. It makes 45PS, 39Nm, and is paired with a six-speed gearbox.
Underpinnings
In terms of suspension, the 390 SMC gets an inverted fork - adjustable for compression and rebound, and monoshock adjustable for rebound and preload. Both will have 230mm of wheel travel, similar to the Enduro. The test mule was also seen with 17-inch spoke wheels, likely to be tubeless. The tyres are road-biased, with the front likely being a 110-section unit, and a 150-section at the rear. In terms of brakes, it will get discs at both ends - 320mm at the front and 240mm at the rear, with dual-channel ABS. Additionally, it gets a seat height of 860mm, ground clearance of 270mm, fuel tank capacity of 9-litres, and a dry weight of 154kg (all specifications as per the international model).

Features
It will have similar features as the Enduro R, and gets all the basics right - a TFT console with smartphone connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation, all-LED lighting, among others. It will also get three ride modes: Street, Sport, and Rain. In addition to this, it will get adjustable footpegs, brake and clutch levers. The ABS will get a Supermoto mode as well - which will switch off only the rear ABS.
Launch And Price
While KTM has not officially confirmed, it will likely be launched this month or the next. And it is expected to be priced around Rs 3.3 lakh (ex-showroom) – same as the upcoming 390 Enduro R.

BikeDekho Says
The KTM 390 SMC R will be the first locally manufactured sub-500cc supermoto bike in India. It will be a unique offering for those who want a fun motorcycle that can handle the urban roads - good or bad.
User Reviews
Ready to Adventure.I also have a Duke, Adv has covered all the issues which I have faced on Duke when I use to go on long rides, Ride is also plush coupled with a great engine which proves itself on all grounds. Also it has a decent fuel efficiency considering its engine performance. Bike's comfortable its mileage is also good I get a decent range, but the engine won't feel as raw as BS4 duke, great electronics and safety. Just having engine oil consumption on higher side. Also the Trampler tyres give more life than Turanzas which came initially. Long hauling person should definitely buy this bike, long rides are so hassle free. And comfortable, also if you have to carry any luggage they have provided good anchoring points. Tieing a back pack or a duffle bag is easy.Read More
Enduro R reviewsurprisingly capable on the road, especially on twisty tarmac often surprising sportbike riders. It can maintain highway speeds well but its dirt-bike roots mean long highway rides can be less comfortable due to wind firm seats and some engine vibrations More approachable, manageable, and easier to handle for less-experienced off-road riders. Excellent chassis/suspension.but can feel heavy and bottom out on the shock in very rough.aggressive terrain compared to dirt bike I want to say anything best mileage best performance what you need apart from that best bike i ever ride the aggressive bike especially on twisty tarmac often surprising sportbike ridervibrations engienRead More
