Yamaha R15 And R3 70th Anniversary Edition Launched Abroad

The new special edition livery makes these japanese bikes look super tempting

Special 70th Anniversary editions of the Yamaha R15 and Yamaha R3 have been launched in Brazil to celebrate seven decades of the brand’s legendary racing journey. Both motorcycles have received an eye-catching retro-inspired paint scheme that pays tribute to Yamaha’s rich motorsport history, while remaining mechanically unchanged. The price for the Yamaha R15 starts at BRL 24,090 (Rs 4.69 lakh), while the bigger Yamaha R3 is priced at BRL 37,790 (Rs 7.36 lakh).

Inspired By Yamaha’s Racing Heritage

The biggest highlight of both anniversary editions is the iconic red-and-white livery, inspired by Yamaha’s classic race bikes from the past. The paint scheme instantly gives both motorcycles a proper factory race-bike appearance. The R3 looks a bit more striking, especially when paired with the golden inverted fork.

Whether it is the sharp and aggressive styling of the R15 or the larger supersport proportions of the R3, the anniversary colours suit both bikes extremely well. The design manages to blend old-school racing inspiration with modern supersport styling, making these editions stand out without needing any additional cosmetic modifications. That said, with only 1200 units of the R15 and 600 units of R3, this is more of a limited edition of these Japanese sport bikes.

No Mechanical Changes

Apart from the new livery and cosmetic updates, both motorcycles remain exactly the same mechanically. The R15 continues with its sporty small-capacity setup, while the R3 retains its twin-cylinder performance-focused character. There are no changes to the engine, chassis, suspension, or features on either bike. Yamaha has kept the updates purely visual, which is often the case with anniversary and heritage editions.

Could They Come To India?

As of now, these 70th Anniversary editions are limited to the international market, and there is no confirmation about an India launch. However, considering how popular both the R15 and Yamaha’s racing-inspired models are among Indian enthusiasts, these special liveries would definitely attract plenty of attention if introduced here.
