BMW CE 02: Alternatives For The Same Price

The quirky-looking BMW CE 02 has a lot better options in the same price range

BMW Motorrad has launched the CE 02 electric scooter in India. The CE 02 gets a 3.92kWh battery which makes 15PS at 5,500rpm and 55Nm at 1,000rpm. BMW claims that the CE 02 will deliver a range of 108km and a top-speed of 95kmph. The electric scooter will do the 0-50kmph sprint a claimed 3 seconds. The CE 02 is priced exorbitantly at Rs 4,49,900 (ex-showroom, Delhi), and here are five same price other alternatives:

Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2 Recon: Rs 3,99,000 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru)

The Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2 Recon is the first Indian electric sport bike. It is powered by a 10.3kWh battery which makes 40PS and 100Nm that propels the F77 to a claimed top-speed of 155kmph and a claimed range of 323km on a full charge. In terms of features, the F77 gets a 5-inch TFT screen, riding modes, regen modes, traction control, switchable ABS, stability control, and a host of other electronics. The seat height is  800mm and the bike tips the scales at 207kg kerb. 


Aprilia RS 457: Rs 4,10,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi)

The Aprilia RS 457 borrows its looks from its elder siblings, the RS 660 and the RS V4. A thoroughbred sports bike which gets a 457cc liquid-cooled parallel twin engine which makes 47PS at 9,400rpm and 43.5Nm at 6,700rpm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. The bike features a 5-inch TFT screen and Aprilia has made sure that leaves no stones unturned in terms of the features it gets. The bike gets a 41mm fork and a monoshock both of which are preload adjustable. Brakes include a 320mm disc at the front and a 220mm disc at the rear. The RS 457 weighs in at 175kg wet and the seat height is 800mm.


Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650: Rs 3,63,900 -Rs 3,94,373 (ex-showroom, Delhi)

The Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 is a cruiser motorcycle and gets the same engine as the Interceptor 650 which is a 648cc air-cooled parallel-twin engine which makes 47PS at 7,250rpm and 52.3Nm at 5,650rpm and is paired with a 6-speed gearbox. The bike gets a steel-tubular frame, telescopic fork and twin shock-absorbers. It has a 19-inch front wheel and a 16-inch rear wheel, which accentuate the cruiser stance of the motorcycle. Brakes include a 320mm disc at the front and a 300mm at the rear. In terms of features, the bike gets a semi-digital LCD screen and a trippe pod which aids by showing turn-by-turn navigation. The seat height is 740mm and the ground clearance is a mere 135mm. The bike weighs a hefty 241kg kerb which is a lot considering it only gets a 650cc engine. 


Yamaha MT-03: 4,59,900 (ex-showroom, Delhi)

The street naked motorcycle from Yamaha shares its platform with its faired sibling, the R3 and gets a 321cc liquid-cooled parallel twin engine which makes 42PS at 10,750rpm and 29.5Nm at 9,000rpm paired with a 6-speed gearbox. The MT-03 has a  diamond frame and gets a USD fork and a monoshock. A 290mm front disc and a 220mm rear disc help in stopping the motorcycle. The motorcycle is as simple as it comes, a LCD screen and dual-channel ABS is all it gets in terms of features. The seat height is very accessible at 780mm along with a ground clearance of 160mm. The bike is also relatively light as it weighs in at 167kg wet.


KTM 390 Adventure: Rs 2,80,562 - Rs 3,64,142(both prices ex-showroom, Delhi)

The adventure bike is built on the same platform as the 390 Duke but with a new subframe and long travel suspension. The KTM 390 Adventure is powered by the 2nd generation 390 Duke’s engine, a 373cc liquid-cooled single cylinder engine which makes 43.5PS at 9,000rpm and 37Nm at 7,000rpm paired with a 6-speed gearbox. The top variant comes with a 19/17-inch spoke wheels setup along with full-adjustable suspension at both ends. Features include, a TFT screen with riding modes, switchable ABS and traction control, cornering ABS, etc. The 2025 KTM Adventure has been spied testing in India and it will receive a major update over the current model.
