Yamaha MT-03

Yamaha MT-03 is a stripped-down version of R3, which now on sale in the domestic market. It shares design cues with R3. The front fascia of the bike is getting a sharply crafted headlamp with twin pilot lamp. The twin rear view mirrors are fitted nicely on the handlebar, hence, improve the aesthetic of the machine. The instrument cluster of the bike is easy to read that displays the information about digital speedometer, trip meter, odometer, fuel gauge and an analogue tachometer. It has been fitted with a muscular fuel tank of 14 liters capacity that gives a respectable riding stance to the rider. It has also been provided with well-padded thick cushioned split seat that offer an optimum comfort level to the rider as well as the pillion even on the long distance rides. Coming to the rear, the bike feature a sharp tail lamp light and the clear lens turn blinkers are embedded impressively on the number plate holder.

Constructed on a diamond type frame, the giant has an overall body measurement of 2090 mm in length, 745 mm in width, 1035 mm in height that gives it an indispensable road appearance and a wheelbase of 1380 mm ensures an agile and sharp control in all condition. It has a minimum ground clearance of 160 mm that offers a smooth ride around the corners. Forbye, it has been equipped with a huge fuel tank of 14 liters capacity that offers a good riding posture as well as long distance rides without any halt. The total kerb weight of the bike is 165 kgs.

Yamaha MT-03 is loaded with the same 321cc, 2-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, DOHC, 4-valves engine that is used to serve its faired sibling R3. The powerful engine comes mated to constant mesh 6-speed transmission system that churns out 41.4 bhp of power at 10500 rpm along with 29.6 Nm of torque at 9000 rpm. It uses a Wet, Multiple Disc type clutch assembly to transmits the power to the rear wheel and uninterrupted power delivery. The fuel injected motor has a compression ratio of 11.2: 1 and a power oriented bore x stroke ratio of 68 mm x 44.1 mm.

MT-03 is a naked street bike, which has been fitted with 110/70-17M/C 54H as its front and 140/70-17M/C 66H as its rear tyres. Both tyres are tubeless and have a good grip on the road, hence, provide a smooth ride on the Indian terrains. Moreover, these tyres are mounted over an elegant alloy wheels. The braking duties are carried out by 298 mm hydraulic disc brake at the front and 220 mm hydraulic disc brake at the rear. It features a telescopic fork as its front suspension and swingarm assisted mono shock absorber as its rear suspension.

MT-03 equipped with a 12V, 60/55W headlight that provide a steady beam of light and illuminates the roads pretty well at the nights even in the dark areas. Furthermore, it has been fitted with tubeless tyres that reduce the chance of sudden downshift in the case of a puncture. The bike is built on a diamond frame that ensures the premium stability at high speeds.
