The upcoming bike will borrow the larger Pulsar 220F’s front fairing and headlamps

Bajaj is gearing up to launch a faired version of the Pulsar 180 in February.     It will feature the Pulsar 220F’s fairing and projector headlamp setup.     Dealers have commenced bookings for a token amount of Rs 1,000.     The new bike is expected to arrive at Bajaj dealerships next month.     It is expected to be priced around Rs 86,500 (ex-showroom Mumbai).

Bajaj Auto has been constantly evolving its best-selling Pulsar range for nearly two decades. Apart from launching different variations of the Pulsar 150 and Pulsar 180, Bajaj was also one of the first manufacturers to introduce fuel injection in the form of the Pulsar 220 Fi. Best of all, the manufacturer has even let the designs seen on larger Pulsars to trickle down into the smaller ones. The largest capacity model, the Pulsar 220F, is one of Bajaj’s best-selling bikes thanks to our country’s fascination with faired motorcycles. Now, it looks like Bajaj wants to replicate that success in the 180 segment by giving the Pulsar 180 the same set of half fairing and projector headlamp setup.

Called the Pulsar 180F, the new bike the large fuel tank, side panels, tailpiece and features like LED tail lamps and semi-digital instrument console from the Pulsar 180 and 220F. Additionally, it even gets a plastic belly pan, which is something the Pulsar 220F lacks.

The Pulsar 180F is equipped with the same engine and exhaust system as its naked sibling. The 178.6cc air-cooled motor produces 17PS and 14.2Nm of torque and comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The Pulsar 180 uses most of the Pulsar 220F’s underpinnings, so expect them to be carried over to the Pulsar 180F as well. It should also get a single-channel ABS as standard.

According to our sources, the bike will go on sale next month and will be priced at around Rs 86,500 (ex-showroom Mumbai). If our sources are right, the Pulsar 180F will attract a premium of Rs 1,500 over the naked Pulsar 180, which is priced at Rs 85,000. It will also make the new bike around Rs 11,000 more affordable than the Pulsar 220F. Dealers have already started accepting bookings for the Pulsar 180F for a token amount of Rs 1,000. Expect more details to trickle in soon.
