Bajaj Avenger Street 220 BS6, Avenger Cruise 220 BS6 Bookings Open

Deliveries will commence by the end of this month

Bajaj is all set to launch its new BS6 lineup and to that effect, some dealerships have started accepting unofficial bookings for the Avenger Street 220 BS6 and Avenger Cruise 220 BS6. The booking amount ranges from Rs 1,000 to Rs 5,000 depending on the dealership. The cruiser will be launched this month and deliveries will commence by the end of the month. The prices too have been revealed ahead of launch. The Avenger 220 BS6 now costs Rs 1,15,456 (ex-showroom Mumbai), a hike of around 10,000 over its BS4 predecessor. Besides a cleaner motor, the Avenger 220 BS6 is expected to get minor cosmetic updates to justify the price hike. 

The Avenger 220 shares its 220cc oil-cooled powerplant with the Bajaj Pulsar 220. Like the Pulsar 220 BS6, the Avenger 220 BS6 will get fuel-injection and a catalytic convertor. According to leaked documents, the Avenger 220 BS6 delivers 19PS at 8400rpm, which is identical to the outgoing BS4 Avenger 220.

The new Avenger 220 BS6 has the same dimensions as the BS4 Avenger except for the height. That could be due to the Avenger BS6 sporting shorter mirrors or a shorter windscreen. Underpinnings too are expected to be carried over. The Avenger 220 BS6 will get telescopic forks and twin gas-charged shock absorbers. The braking setup consisting of a front disc and rear drum brake with single-channel ABS is also expected to be carried over. The Avenger 220 BS6 will launch along with other BS6 Bajaj motorcycles like the Pulsar 220, Pulsar NS 200, Pulsar RS 200, and Pulsar 150.
